Scotland Run Golf Club

About
Scotland Run Golf Club is conveniently located less than a half hour from downtown Philadelphia and only 45 minutes from Atlantic City. It has been voted the top golf course in the Philadelphia Region and it's also ranked in Golf World's Top 50 Public Courses in the country. The layout is routed through and around an old sand quarry, providing a unique mix of wooded, quarry, and links-style holes. The distinctive landscape has unique features including expansive waste areas and imposing cliffs that were deftly incorporated into the design. The golf course is wide open, which means it's at the mercy of the prevailing winds. Scotland Run Golf Club is a tough but fair test where you'll face forced carries, water hazards, and strategically placed bunkers. On mornings where the fog rolls off of the hills, for a split second you might think you're at St. Andrews.

Great Track
Scotland Run has removed some trees. The course has never played better. Greens where in great condition. Freeways and tees in super shape as well. I would advise anyone who loves golf play this course!!
It’s Good, but...
I love the layout. My problem is what I’ve seen all too often on higher end priced courses. The “day golfers”, and probably the member, don’t take care of the course. They paid their “X dollars”, and they expect others to clean up behind them. Too many beat up tee boxes, divets not repaired, and ball marks on the greens. They have a few short par 4’s that have SW or LW into greens, and the landing areas are left abused. And can’t anyone fix a GF ball mark...? I just wish they had a ranger out there to enforce courtesy. Oh, but other than that, l did enjoy the layout and the round.
Awesome track!!!
Everything about the course is 5 Star. Would definitely bring the guys here to play. :D
Really enjoyable track to play
Very nice layout. Course was wet after overnight rains that resulted in a cart path only round of golf. Greens were a bit slower than I would like, but that’s typical at this time of year., I will definitely be back!
Not up to par
Not sure what is going on, but the course was all torn up. In fairness, they were aerating the course, but I've never seen a course go through aeration with this result. Parts of the course, mostly the rough, looked like it had been set on fire.
Not going back until the problems are fixed.
Not worth the money I spent and not worth yours IMHO.
BEAUTIFUL DAY ON THE COURSE
I would say it's not worth the normal $89 per round that was on the course webpage, but at $65 through Golf Now I would play it again and again.
My only complaint was the greens were a bit slow, otherwise, everything was great.
Great track
Scotland Run is by far 1 of the best public courses in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Over priced
This course is always over priced in my opinion, but when you compare it to other local courses, it's head an shoulders better! It's never worth 120$ especially after it's just been aerated on greens an fairways is not cool. Still would recommend this course all day. Great layout an some cool holes, just can't justify the $
Great conditions
Everything about this course makes me want to play again. Friendly staff, great conditions. Pace of play was perfect. It’s a secluded course no homes in sight. Watching skydivers jump out of airplanes all day was an added bonus.
Great staff, horrible conditions
the staff and layout of this course is great. The conditions as of today are not worth the cost. Fairways were fair to poor... greens were ok but the grass leading to the greens were bad. Weeds stopped my chip on the 7th. Some fairways were aeratored and just in poor shape... not worth what I paid.
The course was beautiful, the pace was slow and that could be do because of the size of the course because if you’re not a big hitter you got your work cut out for you .But if you are a decent golfer it’s a great challenge
Meh
Course is in below average shape. Better conditions can be found elsewhere for a fraction of the fee. Ranger was incredibly unprofessional and a poor representative of an otherwise friendly staff.
Overpriced, Slow Play, Overrated
3:50 tee time on a Friday afternoon for $69 when the course doesn't drain properly, the greens aren't well kept, and the "club championship" in front of you makes your round 5 hours, isn't a great start to the weekend. This course has recently raised prices and it has only gotten worse. Do not recommend playing here - many courses in the area for much better value.
Lousy greens
Disgraceful that they would charge $119 to play on a course with pitiful green conditions. No excuses, I've played four different courses over the last week and all had superior greens, even the burned out greens at Seaview Pines played better. I voiced my complaint in the pro shop and I was told they were aware, well if your aware then reduce the rates, just like many courses due after aeration.
