Greens were aerated, bumpy and slow.
Get the greens into better condition.
Clean them up, cut them and roll them.
Course is fun layout. Very enjoyable course several challenging holes.
Greens had just been aerated were sandy and very hard to put on.
A few tee boxes were chewed up.
Overall a positive experience
Love these courses, but...
I have played both of these courses for many years. Love them both.
However, yesterday was a surprise. Aerified tees, greens and fairways. No notice when i booked that these were the conditions. Mercer must be the first course in the area aerifying. no one else is for several weeks. Some of the tee boxes were burned out, couldn't even get a tee in the ground.
I'm not sure if the lack of aerification notification was the fault of Golf Now or the course. Either way, a waste of money. Lesson learned, call the course first.
Great Layout
Played a noon on a Saturday in 4 hours. Beautiful views of a reservoir. Greens were quick and in good shape. Fairways and most tees are also in good shape. A variety of tees for every level of golfer. Overall really good experience.
West Course Needs Some Work
Course needs some work. First hole green is in horrific shape, putting off of dirt in many areas. A handful of the tee boxes need work, some are bare and need grass. Agree fairways seemed burnt out, not sure why since we have had a good amount of rain. The course does get a lot of play and may be the reason why not in the best shape. I have played the course many times and usually in very good shape. Hoping it gets better in the next month or two, so I can play again
Course is not in good shape
I have played Mercer Oaks many times in the past. It was sad to see the condition the course is in. The greens are dried out and browned. The TEEs are so hard that you cannot stick a tee in.
Needs a lot of work.
it's been a while
I've played this course for decades and I am sorry to say that the course conditions were the worst I have ever seen.
Too many beginner play
I played 9 hole for 3.5hours.
A lot of waiting time for play.
Loved it
Scenic course that was in very good shape in the middle of summer. Some challenging holes that require good placement. I'll be back
Mercer Oak West
Late afternoon tee time. Staff always helpful and friendly. Course in great condition. Pace of play was good. The closing holes are very fun and the setting sun gave it an enjoyable perspective.
Good Value, Fair Conditions
First time playing after hearing many good things about MOW. Course layout was very good and visually excellent. Unfortunately, possibly due to the extreme summer heat and rain the greens were less than ideal. i would definitely play again hopefully to experience better greens. Biggest complaint is the rough has way too much overgrown Crabgrass and Clover.
Nice Layout/Good Weekday Value
The west course has a nice layout and was in very good shape. The mid-afternoon round was a good value and the pace of play was great (3.5 hours).
Disappointed
Played here growing up and was home visiting my family, was very let down by the management. Starting did not enforce actual start times and so the course got bunched up very quickly. Was waiting for the people ahead of us for every shot after I teed off.
By the 5th hole (par 3) there was 2 groups waiting at the tee box. After taking 1:15 to play the first 4 holes I just drove back to the clubhouse. There was 2 holes completely open, and no marshals to enforce pace of play. Really disappointed with coming back.
Excellent course
There are 2 courses at Mercer Oaks. There is the East course which is a links course that I had played twice before and also is an excellent course. The West course is a parkland style. Most of the holes are defined by moguls on the sides like a links course or trees to separate each hole. The par 5's are long. There is no drinking water on either course but, the cart girl does come around frequently. Fairways and greens were in perfect condition. Some of the bunkers were like concrete but, to be fair the course had gotten a lot of heavy rain. I would recommend both courses they are in great shape. The 19 th hole is very good also. There is a putting green and a driving range to warm up on. One item that golf now members should be aware of is the price on golf now is for walking only. You can take a cart but, they will charge you $17.00 more. That's not a problem they're used to that at the pro shop. Very friendly staff, I would recommend this course.
It was hot
We basically had the course to ourselves based on the 100+ heat. The Cart Girl ended up being a lifesaver. Everything was in great shape which is pretty standard for the 2 Mercer Oaks courses.
