Wow... this course keeps you on your toes but you can still score
There wasn’t a bad or boring hole. I loved the elevations on each hole. Beautiful views abs challenging course. I can’t believe I’ve never played it but I’ll definitely be back!!!
Great Deal for the $$
Coming from a place where budget golf in my area was $25 for 18 holes. This place surpassed my expectations! Greens were extremely fast. The only thing that slightly bothered me was the over-saturation of the fairways. As for the first 9 holes they were fairly “mushy.” Not anything to take away from the experience on a quality course. Definitely would recommend grabbing a deal time if you have the chance and make sure to bring plenty of water.
Great Course - Beautiful Views and Scenery
The views of Heber Valley and the surrounding mountains are spectacular. There is tons of elevation changes on the Gold course.
The course conditions were fantastic for being so early in the golf season. The driving range was closed because there were still lots of snow drifts all over the driving range. However, the course was awesome and there was no snow at all on the course.
The front nine has tons of elevation changes with lots up up and down holes. The back nine plays much more flat and level than the front nine.
I love the course. The wide fairways and tricky greens are protected by a lot of bunkers and the wind, when blowing always presents a challenge.
AWESOME Course Layot - Fantastic Condition
This was my first time playing the Gold course.
I played from the Blue tees at 6,629 yards
I love the course. It is amazing in so many ways. Beautiful scenery, beautiful views of the Heber valley and surrounding mountains,, amazing course conditions, almost perfect greens (roll true, quick, smooth, VERY FEW non-repaired ball marks). The course conditions were amazing. I played two courses last week which I paid over $200 each to play and the conditions at Soldier Hollow Gold course were far better than either of the $200 courses I played. One of the prettiest courses I have played.
The course has lots of holes where you are playing up and down slopes and hills which makes it very fun, challenging and a joy to play.
The front nine plays the hillside in huge fashion. While the fairways are wide, wind gusts can move your ball into the rough quite easily. The second nine plays down into a flat. Wind is with you going out and against you coming in.
I love this course. The wide fairways and tricky greens are protected by a lot of bunkers and the wind.
Soldier Hollow is a must play for any golfer playing in this valley.
Gold Course gets Five Gold Stars!
We played from the Blue tees at 6,629 yards 71.0/127. We arrived at 4 pm and got a twilight rate of $20 for 18 holes with cart.
First, the views of Heber Valley and the surrounding mountains are unparalleled. The course plays across the hillside and into a flat that was once the site of the 2002 Olympic Games Biathlon. The Gold Course is touted higher than the Silver, although both courses looked to have the same landscape.

Soldier Hollow's courses are a must play for any golfer playing in this valley. The courses are operated by Wasatch Mountain State Park which also manage the eponymous courses, Mountain and Lake.
Really enjoyed my round
Course was in fantastic shape. They had recently cut the tall grass so didn't lose any balls. Overall a very nice course, in very good shape, that is very fun to play. Several holes had hidden hazards that I didn't know about. Fun elevation on a couple holes, especially the 3's.
An Awesome Panorama of the Heber Valley
The gold course is not your everyday walk in the park. It will challenge all your shot making skills.
This course is at a higher elevation than it's twin 18, the silver course.
There are lots of elevation changes and too many side hill and down hill green approaches in deep rough. The pace of play is not the best. It is a popular layout and there are many unskilled players trying to hit from the tips.
They did not have a Marshall on the course so the pace of play really suffered.
There are plenty of long carries over nasty wild ravines.
Players here should have to provide a valid USGA handicap under 20 prior to teeing it up.
The course is in great shape with smooth tricky greens and deep rough just off the fairways.
Our first pro shop guy was John, but he was less than cordial and very full of himself.
The second fellow we met was Joel. He was a 180 degree change. He was very friendly and accommodating.
Joel was a gem in the pro shop and should be recognized for his efforts.
They have some great value rates for senior golfers. Overall this is one of the top courses in the area.
The restaurant here is a good place to eat.
Great value
One of my favorite local public courses. Park City is surrounded by private courses that are tough to get on. Soldier Gold is a challenging course you can easily and affordably play. It has hosted the U.S. Amateur Public Links twice, and is no pushover muni. Get there early- the wind usually kicks up around noon.
