Quick 9 @ Douglaston
Fun place. Play a little slow. Only able to play 9, decided to walk. Good workout, hilly.
Course was great pace was terrible
The course was very slow. We had to leave after 13 holes we were at the 4 1/2 hour mark after 13 holes
The pace was terrible I’m used to this on the city courses but Douglaston was usually the better one. It probably would have been a 6 hour plus round had we not left
I will play this course more often
This course is only 5 min away from my home. It is under good condition right this season. It has up and down hills, therefore if you play by walking, a trolley cart is recommended.
Love course!
The course was in excellent shape, greens were perfect!
Very nice for a NYC course
The course is in good shape for a NYC run course. The greens and tee boxes are in good shape and there is a distinct cut of rough of the fairways that can pose a challenge if you don’t hit the fairway. Very friendly staff in the snack shop, pro-shop and on course cart services. The pace of play is really the only negative of this course as a normal round can take 5 hours on the weekend. All in all, a very nice course.
Terrible pace of play. 5.5+ hour round
Do not play here. Pace of play is awful and they do nothing to help it. They pack the tee times to closely together to try and make more money but it backs the whole course up. My group asked to come back another time to finish the back 9 and they said no. Do not play here.
Great Course That Played Well…
Great course that played well after two days or continuous rain in NYC. Course conditions were gear with some very challenging holes.
Several reasons why I gave a poor rating:
Why they charge for parking is beyond me
You cannot go past parking area until within 15 minutes of your tee time
Rate is highest of local courses...consider the T time is high....$4 reservation per person...2.75 park
The golf carts are beat up....time for new more modern carts
Certain holes are really in poor condition
Fairways, rough and greens in great condition. Great job by all involved.
