Douglaston
Short course. Nice greens. Players do not fix divots anywhere. For some reasons must if not all green borders are grassless. Soil borders
Very enjoyable course
Douglaston is a little shorter than most with 7 par 3's, but the layout is challenging. The greens Are not easy. The course is in very good condition
Nice Course but.....
Douglaston GC has a challenging 18 hole relatively short but hilly layout. The fairways are in excellent condition for a public course due to restrictions on cart accessibility. In fact, unless you can place your shots with some accuracy you may be better off walking the course. The rough is VERY high and much time is spent looking for balls that are just feet (sometimes inches) off the fairway. That said, it was a fairly quick round and mostly enjoyable. Would play again and recommend to others.
Overall
Too many beginners without manner,
No rangers to guide some players without etiquette,
Anyway better than any distant places,
Good place to play as long as playing pace maintained
Course is in Great Shape!
Had a perfect day of Golf! Weather was great, staff was helpful and the course was in great shape. The grass in the rough was high enough to be a real challenge which was fun. Overall, a wonderful round!
DUMP
This place use use to he the nicest course in queens now it looks like an abandon lot it’s all mud and the rough looks like it hasn’t been mowed in a year if you don’t hit the fairway you literally cant find your ball because the grass is so high I wouldn’t play here again for free
Too much $ for this course
Par 67 for $70+ was crazy. Too many par 3’s and was not maintained very well. To buy the cart was almost as much as it cost to play 18 which is ridiculous. Decent course but not worth the $70+ that it was. I would be very happy with this course paying no more than $50 which is what its worth. I have no problem spending money on golf but only if it is worth the money.
