Cherry Creek Woods
Its very early in season so cant be too critical of course conditions. Good layout with some very nice holes. I prefer the Links across street as almost everyone does. Its a very tight tee shot course. So unless one has a strong tee game expect to be hitting from woods alot of holes. Greens rolled nice but a little slow. But again, its early in season. Staff was friendly.
Every Hole had Maintenance Crew aerating, raking, blowing you couldnt play
Wasnt advised by anyone that Cherry Creek would be going through major course aeration, resanding bunkers, raking leaves or the aeration pieces, blowing leaves, etc but practically every hole was filled with moving vehicles, loud engine noises, etc. not one time did the maintenance crew pause, turn off their machine and get out of the way. They acted like we werent there. Funny thing was all the NYS courses that we usually play ($22 as we’re seniors) we couldnt because they ( Indian Island, Timber Point, etc) announced they were closed for maintenance. Cherry creek/GolfNow opted not to tell us, charged the usual fee ($53) and their maintenance guys weren’t trained at how to act when golfers are close, not that it would have mattered as the fairways were unplayable… STAY AWAY
Dry good course as public courses go. Some very difficult holes and some forgiving ones. Narrow fairways surrounded by woods (hence the name) make this course challenging for an occasional player like myself.

The staff is great from the pro shop to the restaurant. The course is challenging and rewarding.
Reservation system could be improved
Course was in fair condition for August, showing some wear and tear. Made a reservation on GolfNow for 2, and course was unable adjust for my son to have the junior rate. To get the junior rate, times must be reserved and paid through the Pro shop. I had called the shop several times to reserve this time, but no answer all day so I went through GolfNow. They’ve made the adjustment before at the shop, but lesson learned I guess
Great Course but cutting of greens was annoying
Love the course , very good condition, Only real negative was the worker on the ztrac mower, followed me for 4 holes and was cutting greens and area around it for at least 10 minutes a hole, never gave any courtesy just zoomed around us while we were playing. I know the grass needs to be cut but come on maybe sit at idle for a minute while i attempt to chip or put.
The course was in great shape and staff were defiantly friendly .. The pace of play was extremely slow that day..

From start to finish had a wonderful round at the woods with my son! The staff from the moment you get there is very friendly. The course layout we loved concession stand prices We’ll definitely be back again to play the woods at Cherry Creek.
