Cherry Creek - The Woods Course

I live in Nassau county but this is my favorite course on Long Island. As soon as I get on the course, I feel calmer and far away from the stresses of my life. The only sounds heard are the birds and there are few distractions. Yesterday I played with one other and we finished 18 holes in 3 hrs 10 minutes. The course was in good shape including the greens. I like a wooded course and the holes are interesting, not too hard and not too easy.

Played the woods on Tuesday June 5,2018 and it was brutal .walked off the course after 11 holes.took 250 mins for front 9 and ran into the ranger and asked what’s the hold up.the ranger said there is a super senior group that plays every Tuesday about 80 guys that teed off around 7 am.i teed off at 1030 and asked if they do a shot gun start maybe 2 groups on tee to avoid this mess and was told no shot but not a bad idea because it takes 5.5 hours to play on thAt day

The staff was friendly, very helpful, but the guys I played with were not good. I was offered to go ahead of the group if necessary.

Always a challenging round. Good variety of holes. Course in excellent condition.

I had some directional issues that day, but it's not the course's fault!!

It's what I need to work on, so the Woods is a good place to do it

Course was in great shape!!! Fairways and trees along fairways were all cleared of leaves!!! Played solo and was done in under 3 hours. Flew through early holes, playing 2 balls, until I caught up to twosome in front of me on 13 and they had a threesome in front of them. Will be playing here again in the near future.

Great course! Excellent shape! Staff top notch! Greens were good for early on the season! For all the snow he had amazing. Definely will be back. Love the woods challenging and makes u use all the clubs in your bag. Only knock was the leaves on the fairway. Made your ball hard to find on fairway. Alot of long par 4s and short par 5s. Tuff pin placements.

first time playing playing this course , was very impressed with the entire experience. Will definitely play this course again.

I've played here in the fall before and expected to loose some balls in the leaves, they don't call it Thr Woods for nothing. Was pleasantly surprised to see the ground keepers have done an amazing job of clearing the course and even the rough. Great job!

Many trees.... hence the name. Staff does a great job of clearing leaves. No lost balls by group.

Fairways not that narrow. Woods clean able to save 2nd shot. Course in great shape.

I always like this course based on the variation in hole length. Sometimes you have to really jump on it and sometimes it takes an exact yardage. Always a good challenge.

Rain and the threat of rain. Once I played around a three some on the 3rd hole, the course was all mine playing as a single.

Got it done in 3 hours.. Rough was thick but wet so not too bad. Definitely the WOODS.. Keep it in the fairway. Green were very playable, meaning make-able in one put..

Under these conditions I would play here every day.

As always the staff is very friendly and accommodating. There is a large practice green and a separate area to practice your chip shots.

The course has a very thick rough so stay out of it or your score will be hurt. There are several holes where the fairways are tight so the 3 wood is highly recommended.

The halfway house is always open!

The 19th hole has fantastic food and beverages.
