Post Ian
Course is in great shape considering they just had a class 4 hurricane!
Not a great experience
Booked a single spot. When I got there (about 30-40 minutes ahead) it was a zoo because of a scramble tournament getting ready to start. Went in to check in and pay and the trio I was matched with was in front of me and said that they called and got a fourth approved. So they called starter and got me a different trio who had already tee'd off on #1. They rushed me out to #1 tee and I hit and they let the trio know I was catching up to them. So no relaxing warm up I like because the course didn't manage their bookings. Felt rushed all day and never got comfortable. Just wasn't enjoyable. Course was wet and sloppy in many places making it very difficult for footing, etc.
Staff redeemed themselves somewhat at the end of the day by helping me retrieve my special driver head cover which got misplaced in the confusion of the beginning of the round.
Always nice to play
🦅 Ridge was a nice golf course. Because of Hurricane IAN the condition was not really good.
Normal for the summer. Like a swamp. I feel sorry for the owner. I know he is try hard. This courses has always been bad in the summer.
Wetlands
Course is very wet many areas within the course cannot be accessed therefore very hard to play a good round of golf.
WET, WET and more WET
The course was very wet. It was well marked, and the staff was very helpful. As we finished our round; we experienced a very pronounced and unbearable smell, around the clubhouse, that resembled sewage.
For the price
Can’t beat the price. I haven’t golfed here for about year and half. I was disappointed and surprised of the condition of the golf carts;…moldy seats, dirty interior and ran very ruff! The attendant assured me “it wouldn’t come off on my clothes” . With the price charged during season, I would have thought they could of reinvested in their equipment.. maybe they have and are awaiting delivery. I brought a first time guest with me… he wasn’t impressed
I still would recommend this course …with reservation.
Course has gone down hill.
Have played many times in past, but not for 2 years. Still drains poorly and fairways are fair at best. 2 years ago they said they where adding drainage. (?)... Have been using SFPGA this year so comparing to Private golf courses now. Why there rates are (higher then CC 's) is a big mystery. To many other choices to be back. Just a shame.
Great golf here.
Some reviews I read are false. This is a nice Public Course. It is a hard course with a lot of water. Beginners should go elsewhere. I love the course as every shot has to be spot on. The golf here is great. Just have your A game or go elsewhere. The price for this great course is cheap. One of the best in Fort Myers.
Didn’t get to play. Flooded
Be aware. This course floods badly in the summer. They tried to call but I had the wrong # in my profile.
It's like dating your 2nd cousin by marriage..
It wasn't great but it wasn't terrible. It was kind of uncomfortable at first but once I got into it I was able to relax and do my thing.
Fun round
Early t time and we were off and running. Foursome finished in just over 3 hours. Greens and fairways were in good condition for this time of year. Everything left or right is wet! I’ll be back.
This was a great course to play during vacation. Although we had a lot of rain the course drained much better than the other courses we played this week in the Ft Meyers area. Another plus is that we were paired up with a local member who was able to help us around the course. The layout is definitely a target course especially with all of the water hazards. We truly appreciated a club member who was welcoming to us at this location. Kudos to the staff and to Rick who was patient and helped a couple of high handicappers around the course.
