Trail/Blue at Blue Ridge Trail Golf Club
About
Blue Ridge Trail Golf Club boasts 27 holes of championship golf that are played in three 18-hole combinations. The three different nines are natural named Blue, Ridge, and Trail. Tucked away in the hills of northeastern Pennsylvania, the golf courses provide stunning scenery and views. All of the holes were carefully carved from the surrounding woodlands and molded into the hillsides. An abundance of trees characterizes the course, giving all of the holes a secluded feel that is further enhanced by the design, which doesn't feature any parallel fairways. The Trail/Blue Course combines the shortest and longest nines but both are considered slightly more challenging than the Ridge nine. The Trail nine possesses two of the four water holes at the club. There is a combination for every skill level and four sets of tees make the nines even more accommodating.

Great layout and thank God for the GPS right on the cart.
I played this course before and now it is in better shape the ever. The GPS is so important ,I feel because of the tee shots distants and set-up for the rest of the hole. Then you can manage the course well. Lower scores!!
Great course
Challenging course. Great views, great condition. Water, sand. Several tee boxes & options. Good food. Plays a touch slow.
Great value
I drove up to PA from DC for a wedding and play a round here. I was expecting a very easy and plain course but was treated to a beautifully maintained course. Great price compared to what I'm used to seeing. Well worth it.
Best bang for the buck in PA??
I'll list the negatives first since they are few and far between and seem borderline knit-picky. I played the Blue and Ridge nines during my first visit to this course. First, I would have liked to see one more set of tees to play from. The jump from 6100 (whites# to over 6600 #blues) is a little gappy and leaves room for another set to choose from inbetween. From the whites, I don't believe I played a par 5 over 490 yards, which makes the par 72 a tad misleading. The only other negative I could think of is playing the Blue 9 followed by the Ridge 9 does not take you near the clubhouse/halfway house at the turn. Coupled that with the fact that we didnt see a drink cart all day, I was more than ready for refreshments than one should be after a round.
All that being said, I paid 28.00 through the golfnow app and can honestly say that dollar for dollar this is far and away the most fun golf experience I have had. Each hole has its own character. There are a lot of tough holes but none that seem 'tricked-up' just a lot of really good golf holes on generally great fairways and good greens. We played on a Monday morning and got around in 3:50 no problem. I will definitely plan on making this trip every summer and will recommend it to all my buddies!
The course is well maintained from tee to green.
The tees and fairways are well cared for, the greens are reasonably quick. The sand traps are well raked. The ownership pays attention to ensure a great golfing experience.
great course for the price
Course was in excellent shape. Staff friendly. Even though it was crowded, pace of play was under 4 1/2 hrs.
Outstanding
Best course we have played in a long time. Outstanding staff and course. On our list of make sure we play again.
Slow Painful Day
My buddy and myself have played here for years and always enjoyed it, until this last time. First we get paired up with a Husband and Wife (Super Seniors) they were very nice by the way. But my buddy and myself both carry a single digit handicap. So our foursome is playing from three sets of tees on every hole!!! I told the starter all of this information at the start and they could have cared less...To but the topping on the cake!! This 27 hole facility was sending all play off of the same nine holes, which meant that each hole was seriously taking 20 minutes to play. Needless to say that I won't be back for a while and think that this facility needs to practice some course management!! After this round I realize why our great game is getting so much critism and loosing players!!
Great Course!
We always love playing this course. The conditions were Fantastic!
fairways happy with, greens in good shape
one of the nicer courses in the valley, course a little expensive for the common joe, overall a good tract
Need rangers
Extremely slow threesome two groups in front of us, and four holes open in front, not one ranger, takes the charm away from the course
Great course; great staff; slow play on holiday weekend
Well maintained course - nice staff - challenging - each hole has its own identity. Play smart.
Great management.
This course is in excellent condition (always is). The management and staff could not be more accomodating efficient or friendly
Beautiful course!!!!!!
First time I ever golf blue ridge and it was something out of a magazine. Well maintained and very friendly staff. GPS in carts was awesome, not 100% correct but gave a good estimate. Played all 27 holes and I will make this course one of my weekly stops.
Nice tract.
This is a "target" golf course, with defined landing areas for your tee shot on most holes. Greens were well maintained, except that they were plugged some weeks ago and have not yet recovered.
I would like a hole or two without the landing area. Its nice to pull out the driver and have at it. Not going to do that here.
One of my favorite courses in the region. We play here 3-4 times per season.
This is one of the best daily fee courses in the state of PA. The layout is challenging, the setting is beautiful, and the quality of the turf is outstanding. This course has rolling fairways with a variation of changes in elevation. The greens are nicely contoured without being brutal. The breaks are subtle and reading them is part of the challenge. The par fives are especially entertaining to play with multiple choices in strategy and routes to the pin available for the average player. The course is fair because it only really penalizes the truly poor shots. If you are making good contact with the ball, bogeys will be easy, but par or better will require solid play.
Must play in NE Pennsylvania!
I play this course every time I come through Wilkes-Barre area. This course is a steal for <$50. Three nines, all equally beautiful and well maintained. Blue Ridge Trail is a must play!
Hidden Gem!
As far as public courses in this area go, this place is top notch. They have 27 well manicured holes, electric carts, and high quality GPS in all carts. This is really a great course in comparison to any, but is also very cost-effective for those on a budget.
Fantastic Course/Layout, great price, a bit out of the way
I've been playing this course for about 5 years now, and it never gets old. With 3 sets of 9, challenging forced-carries on many holes, nice green complexes and varied tees; this course has so much to offer. The back 9 greens (blue course) were punched not too long ago so putting wasn't too great but, overall the course was in very good condition given the long winter. If you get out this way (and it IS a ways off the beaten track), you have to play this course.
All and all great place to play
Course was in good shape, greens rolled nicely. The factthatthey have 3 different 9 hole courses and gps on the cart really helps to keep pace of play moving. All and all, great place to play.
