Morgan Hill Golf Course
About
The Morgan Hill Golf Course in Easton has a somewhat misleading name since you'll find more than just hills on this challenging course. Be prepared to face a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. The golf course has a dramatic design that is carved into a hillside, which makes it a hard course to walk but one that is visually interesting and tough to play. It may not be a layout for the faint of heart but the scenery alone is enough to provide enjoyment. Golfers can enjoy scenic views of the river, but scenic respite is the only break you'll get. There is hardly an even lie to be found and the severely undulating greens will test even the most seasoned golfers. Also, be prepared for a slew of blind shots at Morgan Hill Golf Course.

This course is in HORRIBLE condition
This course is BY FAR the worst conditions I have ever had to play. The fairways look like they haven’t been watered or treated in 3-4 seasons. The car paths are broken up and falling apart. The greens are so soft your feet sink if you weigh more than 130lbs. The “boss” or head guy is not good at customer service. There is NO beverage cart! The bathrooms smelled like pee and carts has dried up beer or soda left in the cup holders. The rough was easier to play out of then the fairways. The “blower guy” who was cutting grass the whole four hours we were there was inconsiderate and was blowing while we were on the green putting. The food (I mean what food) was horrible. The hot dogs are boiled and gray. All the condiments were out so the bottles were empty. I wish I could have gave this place a zero but the ONLY good thing about this course is maybe the backs 9s view of Easton. That’s it!!! This course isn’t worth a penny over $30 for 18 holes. Can’t believe I had to pay $52. Please take this review serious. Go any where else but here
Worst course I’ve ever played
Was expecting this course to be good. It’s rated highly and the pictures make it look great. As soon as you pull the cart around to tee 1 you realize you’re on the worst conditioned course in the state and possibly country. You’d see more grass in a desert than in their fairways. Not only that but the employees flat out lied to us at the beginning of the round saying the conditions were fine and we won’t run into trouble. But of course they tell us at the turn we aren’t allowed to play the back nine because there is a tiny chance of rain. THEY WOULDNT LET US PLAY THE BACK NINE BECAUSE OF POTENTIAL RAIN. Never in my life have I heard of anything so ridiculous as it never even rained. This is hands down the worst course in PA. Do yourself a favor and never play there.
Atrocious
They should have been paying us to play there(said one person in our group)! One of the worst courses I've ever played on. If I could give a zero or negative for the condition of the course, I would, for the amount of money we paid to play. And on one of the hottest days of the year, there wasn't any water jugs, place to buy water, or cart girl to hydrate.
Horrible conditions
I cant believe Morgan is charging full price knowing how bad the shape of the course is in. So much dead grass all over the course from the tee boxes to the fairways which have huge dead areas and the greens had lots of dead diseased areas as well
Sand traps need a lot of sand.
Do NOT play this course the rest of the year. Grass is completely dead from lack of watering. So much so that it will take along time to get it all back.
Not worth the $70
Course was beat up, fairways were all dead or diseased and greens were the same. Probably won’t play there again if they don’t fix the course.
Course is in terrible shape
The course was in terrible shape, definitely not worth $70 for a round in early September. Fairways were all burnt out and dead and both fairways and greens looked diseased and dead.
Was my favorite place!!!
Not any more.
The course is in horrific shape. Need repair fairway and green.
I’ve played this course numerous times and I love it. Haven’t played it in about a good year. I live in NJ traveled 1.5 to find the fairways all burnt out. If I would have known earlier I wouldn’t have played. It would have been nice to been wormed before playing.
Joe
Foor fairway condition!!!
Don't waste your money!!..the course is in horrific shape..All 18 holls are under repair and horrible fairway ..honestly it should be shutdown and redone
Conditions
I know we’ve had a hot dry summer but I’ve never seen this course in this condition… fairways burnt out rough patches on greens really bad rough with so many weeds mixed in the grass u thought u Wer playing a budget muni….
Course layout challenging and fun…course conditions terrible scorched and barren in parts
The course and greens had seen better days. It’s as if both had been scorched. Almost all the greens had large areas of scorched barren ground as were the fairways. The course it’s self is challenging and fun but the upkeep was poor. It could be due to the weather and lack of rain but other courses have faired better. We would play again if course conditions improve.
Golf
First time playing this course, it’s a-must if you’ve never played here. Bring extra golf balls. Pace of play was terrible - a little over 5 hours, but it happens, my only qualm. The fairways were burned in a lot of spots, which I thought was awesome - the ball ran out a lot more, making what was a difficult course, even more difficult, like links golf but the elevation changes were ridiculously challenging and cool. This place has scenic looks, and the layout is up, down, left, and right, all at the same time. Greens were aerated but still played fast. Cart person was always coming around which was great also. This course gave me grief and hope to see yas soon again!
This course is all hills
This course is not enjoyable in Hot drought conditions. It's mostly hills with fairways sloping around 30 degrees. The conditions were dry and the fairways were basically dried out grass and dirt, this I would attribute to the drought and not the staff up keep. Hitting the fairway on the up slope and your ball just rolls down the hill stopping or being lost in the higher grass.
Outstanding Golf and Service - People/staff on and off course 5 stars
Outstanding Experience.
Course was in great shape, the layout is definitely a challenge, the only flat lie is in the club house!
5 Stars for the people encountered:
the entire staff, all welcoming, friendly and professional, from Check-in, starter, beverage and restaurant staff. The main reason to recommending to others.
Hot and Hilly
Played at 2:00pm on a really hot Sunday. The heat scared the masses away. The staff is friendly from pro shop to bag guy and cart girl. We never saw another group on the course except a twosome that stayed about a hole behind us. Played in 3:45 which isn’t bad for Morgan Hill. Lots of blind shots add to ball searches. Overall the tees, greens, fairway and rough were in decent shape. Course is very brown due to lack of rain. Course was hard and firm but greens were receptive. A good number of blind tee shots makes it difficult for those who haven’t played it before. The elevations make club selection a challenge. For example 210 yard 12th hole par 3 is 140’ down hill and plays to about 170 to the middle. 16th par 4 is about 50’ uphill making this 400 yard hole play about 440. Greens have a lot of undulation that should be reduced. Mowers scalped a few greens and with the heat wave, this creates bare spots. Bunkers are in need of a restoration. Some are thin and mostly dirt. This is a difficult course with lots of hills and uneven lies. Not for the beginner. I’m a 7 handicap, par is 71 and I rarely break 80 here. There are blowup holes around every corner. Not a course for a novice golfer. You’ll lose a lot of balls and won’t have fun. Some really spectacular views especially 16 green which overlooks Easton and 17 tee which plays about 100’ downhill with views of the Delaware in the distance. Morgan Hill is not the type of course you’d want to play everyday. It beats you up, even in a cart. It’s a good test of golf and I like to play it 4-5 time a year. If you want to see where you game is at, give it a try. We played it from the green teens which measures about 6450 but plays a lot longer due to the hills. The slope at 129 is too low. Should be at least 135 IMO.
