Harkers Hollow Golf Club

About
Nestled in the hills of Scotts Mountain, Harkers Hollow Golf Club was carved from a sloping hillside, giving it a challenging terrain with plenty of elevation changes. Opened in 1929, the golf course has a classic layout designed by Robert White, the first president of the PGA of America. Although it is a seemingly mild 6,551 yards from the back tees, the course plays much longer and harder thanks to the undulating terrain. The layout does offer a few lengthy holes as well as some interesting par 3s. The greens are small and fast with breaks ranging from subtle to dramatic. There is hardly any water but the Lopatcong Creek does run the entire length of the golf course and requires the occasional carry. The par-3 fifth hole is the club's signature. It is particularly notable for its scenery, which is why it has served as the backdrop for many weddings.

We were paired with two members , could not have met nicer guys. It was only 45 degrees, the course was firm and greens were fast. November golf a great way to end a holiday weekend.
Rough
I'm 19 years old and I decided to play Harkers as a single and when I got there I was paired up with another single. I didn't think there was any problem until they loaded my bag on to his cart and I was told I had to share 1 cart with him. The newer golf standards at MOST courses give single players their own carts I thought this was interesting. At the end of the day I didn't have a problem with this it just bothered me a little bit. Also the course shape was not great the tee boxes are horrible and the cart path isn't even ridable.

I apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your visit. We appreciate your feedback and will strive to improve the golf cart arrangement as well as the condition of the tee boxes and cart path at our course. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
cartpaths very rough needs work
fun course if only the cart paths were not so rough

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate your feedback on the roughness of the cart paths and apologize for any inconvenience caused. We hope you still had an enjoyable experience overall.
Harkers Hollow (Needs Work)
I heard mixed reviews about this course but wanted to evaluate myself. Firstly, the cart path is absolutely terrible. I don't believe the new owners have ever worked on this as part of their revitalization program. Tee boxes were very poor for the most part. Fairways were good and the course layout is challenging. I'm sure this course looked much better years ago as a private country club. I wish the owners well on returning it to the original beauty it once was while building a regular following. The restaurant was very good as was the service.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any negative experiences you may have had with the cart path and tee boxes. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the restaurant and service, and we are committed to improving the course to bring back its original beauty. We hope to see you again soon.
