Harkers Hollow Golf Club
About
Nestled in the hills of Scotts Mountain, Harkers Hollow Golf Club was carved from a sloping hillside, giving it a challenging terrain with plenty of elevation changes. Opened in 1929, the golf course has a classic layout designed by Robert White, the first president of the PGA of America. Although it is a seemingly mild 6,551 yards from the back tees, the course plays much longer and harder thanks to the undulating terrain. The layout does offer a few lengthy holes as well as some interesting par 3s. The greens are small and fast with breaks ranging from subtle to dramatic. There is hardly any water but the Lopatcong Creek does run the entire length of the golf course and requires the occasional carry. The par-3 fifth hole is the club's signature. It is particularly notable for its scenery, which is why it has served as the backdrop for many weddings.

Needs work
Fairways & greens in fairly good condition. Cart paths are in terrible condition or non existent. Tee boxes are hard & patchy. Rough is thick and unyieldingly . Lots of rocky areas near tee boxes and greens. Needs a lot of work to be worth the price they charge.
Saturday morning
Played at 7 am. Chilly start. The course was in great shape the pace of playing was fine. Finished the round in under 4 hours. Fun time and will return soon.
Teaboxes, look good.
There's some new T boxes going in. The greens are very challenging and well. Groomed, the fairways aren't cut clean. The rough is a little tough.
Very nice course to play beautiful scenery some work needed on the card pets
The greens were aerated.
I was not happy that the greens were aerated.and I was not warned ahead of time. Certainly would not have played there if I knew that the greens were aerated.
Great for the Value
I took advantage of a hot deal and booked for a Wednesday morning tee time. Heard the place was in the midst of a revival after a few years and the grounds were great. Course is well taken care of, minus the (lack there of) cart paths. Good value for the course. Pace was a bit slow but chalk it up to the crowd that plays early in the day.
Hilly Monster !!!
This course is amazing. It will humble even if you have played it many times.
The owners have done wonders restoring this course.
Will be back whenever it fits into the schedule !!!!
Nice round at Harkers
On a cold day, there was a frost delay. However, the starter was able to pair me with a twosome so we got out at my tee time. Pace of play was very good: 3:45. Greens were in good shape and very fast. Some parts of the course needed additional grass, and the cart paths are either non-existent or treacherous. Overall, a very nice day for a good price.
Good layout coming back to life
Played here many years ago when the course fell on hard times and this terrific layout was nearly dead. Nice to see it has been restored with excellent greens back in order. Nice people working there - starter, shop and marshall all very friendly and delighted to hear the course was giving me a great afternoon.
misleading
Does not say share cart on reservation. should not have to argue with staff to get a cart.
