About
Nestled in the hills of Scotts Mountain, Harkers Hollow Golf Club was carved from a sloping hillside, giving it a challenging terrain with plenty of elevation changes. Opened in 1929, the golf course has a classic layout designed by Robert White, the first president of the PGA of America. Although it is a seemingly mild 6,551 yards from the back tees, the course plays much longer and harder thanks to the undulating terrain. The layout does offer a few lengthy holes as well as some interesting par 3s. The greens are small and fast with breaks ranging from subtle to dramatic. There is hardly any water but the Lopatcong Creek does run the entire length of the golf course and requires the occasional carry. The par-3 fifth hole is the club's signature. It is particularly notable for its scenery, which is why it has served as the backdrop for many weddings.

Golfer Reviews
Great course
Great course very open well groomed grean were nice
Great course
Was a good challenge from the tips the only thing that was bad was the bunkers and the cart path
I like this course, but...
The course was in good shape, the fairways smooth, the rough high and penal (as it should be) and the greens deceptively fast but far. My only problems with this course are you rarely get a level lie and the cart paths are absolutely awful. My back hurt more from being bounced around in the cart than from swinging the club. Some paving would certainly improve the situation.
Unique course
The greens were quick and the course is challenging. You will find lots of trees, roots and rocks off you are off the fairway. Friendly staff including snack shack and cart girl. However the peace of play was brutal after they randomly put scramble groups in front of us which added an hour to our round. Glad we got a hot deal....
Tough tough course!
This course was featured on Pennsylvania Groupgolfer (yes Pennsylvania, there is no NJ Group Golfer bummer). Very long - played longer than the yardage). I had my longest wood in my hands from fairway on almost every hole from the forward tees. Fairs and greens in good shape despite some rough cart paths. Tees can be a little rough too but that didn’t bother me.
Nice little spot. Reminds me of Bedford Elks (but more difficult). The locker rooms are old timey, and very clean
They have old wood painted leaderboards of the club champions but stop at 2009 as if frozen in time.
Needs work
Fairways & greens in fairly good condition. Cart paths are in terrible condition or non existent. Tee boxes are hard & patchy. Rough is thick and unyieldingly . Lots of rocky areas near tee boxes and greens. Needs a lot of work to be worth the price they charge.
Saturday morning
Played at 7 am. Chilly start. The course was in great shape the pace of playing was fine. Finished the round in under 4 hours. Fun time and will return soon.
Teaboxes, look good.
There's some new T boxes going in. The greens are very challenging and well. Groomed, the fairways aren't cut clean. The rough is a little tough.
Very nice course to play beautiful scenery some work needed on the card pets
The greens were aerated.
I was not happy that the greens were aerated.and I was not warned ahead of time. Certainly would not have played there if I knew that the greens were aerated.
