Morgan Hill Golf Course
About
The Morgan Hill Golf Course in Easton has a somewhat misleading name since you'll find more than just hills on this challenging course. Be prepared to face a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. The golf course has a dramatic design that is carved into a hillside, which makes it a hard course to walk but one that is visually interesting and tough to play. It may not be a layout for the faint of heart but the scenery alone is enough to provide enjoyment. Golfers can enjoy scenic views of the river, but scenic respite is the only break you'll get. There is hardly an even lie to be found and the severely undulating greens will test even the most seasoned golfers. Also, be prepared for a slew of blind shots at Morgan Hill Golf Course.

Pace of play is slooooow.
My foursome has been playing Morgan Hill for several years. The pace of play has become so slow, 5 hours 20 minutes in our last round, that we are now playing other local golf courses. The View restaurant is very nice and we have always enjoyed snacks and drinks after of past rounds of golf but now they are missing out on those of us as customers who have grown tired of the slow play where we our available time to enjoy their service has been removed.
A beauty and a beast
Not a easy course to score. A wonderful course with many challenges. Every shot, every lie is unique.
To get around this course you must know how to work the ball.
Somewhat disappointed
I love Morgan Hill. Have played it many times, but this time I did not enjoy the experience as much as in the past. For some reason, the putting green was cut, but the greens on the course were not. Or at least did not seem to be because they were much slower than the putting green and much slower than I've ever played there. My biggest complaint is the rough. This course is hard enough, but six-inch rough is just too much. We spent at least an extra 30-45 minutes looking for balls that were sometimes just a foot off the fairway. Just for the pace of play, the rough should be cut or at least have an intermediate rough. They've done some good things to the course to make it easier for the average golfer, but the maintenance is really slipping. With so many good, well-maintained courses in the area (Riverview, Green Pond, Allentown muni come to mind), I would be surprised if Morgan Hill continues to get a lot of play. I'm usually a big fan, but this was disappointing. I said I would recommend this course to a friend, but if conditions persist, I will change that opinion.
Worst I have seen this course.
Rough doesn’t get cut anymore,,,, greens were super slow and beat up. This course use to be in excellent shape. I will not go back
Amazing design, maintenance needs to be improved
As someone new to the area, this was the first time I played this course. As busy as most of the courses are in the area I was surprised to see the tee sheet so clear here on what looked to be a very nice course.
Having now played it I was blown away by the design. Putting a golf course basically on the side of a mountain was a bold choice, but it worked exceptionally well. The elevation changes make for an unforgettable round, the strategic choices necessary on multiple holes makes for an exciting one, and the undulating greens make you want to turn right around and chip / putt it again.
Unfortunately, the maintenance doesn't live up to the design. The area has had a fair amount of rain recently, and the greens had apparently been aerated somewhat recently. With those disclaimers out of the way I will say the greens were some of the slowest I've ever putted. A few of the bunkers also had weeds growing in them and one of the holes had recently been mowed and had grass clippings in the fairway.
As ambitious a design as this was it needs to be maintained better to reach the level of excellence the architect intended. I'd still recommend the course because for the views, the incredible topography, and the strategy involved. Hopefully you'll find the course in better condition if you take that recommendation.
Great views
Course is unusual in that it has very unique holes and very challenging links style course. Lot of blind shots and very hard if playing the first time. All the rain the rough was very high. Your gonna get in the rough because of the undulating fairways. This course doesn't need thick rough, challenging enough.
Worth the View
Morgan Hill is a very challenging course. On numerous holes it provides you a" risk - reward" choice. It is the most scenic course available in the valley and probably south of the Poconos. The greens were a bit rough having been recently aerated and top dressed but that is a temporary inconvenience. This course is always worth the trip.
Don’t do it!!
The greens at The Hill are the worst in the state!! Don’t even think about playing here until they heal!! Not only were they aerated but they had patches of sod from the disease that is killing them. Even at the Hot Deal price of $33 it isn’t worth it.
Course and greens are in great shape. Greens were punched on May 2 as most courses punched the greens later this year due to the cold winter. Hopefully you can stop back out and play.
Very slow day as a Junior Tournament was going on. Only played nine holes in three hours - no rain check was given. Usually is better but we were disappointed.
Not for the Novice
Morgan Hill is a nice change of pace course but not you’d want to play regularly. Although the more you play it the better your chances for scoring. This is not a golf course where everything is laid out in front of you. There are a good number of blind shots off the tee and into the greencoupled with severe elevation changes. As my title suggests, this is not a golf course for the inexperienced golfer. I’d say Bogey or better to enjoy it.
The day we played the greens were extremely slow. This made putting difficult as there are also considerable undulation changes on the greens. If you don’t make a slope or putt it too hard through the slope, say hello to three putt or more. It actually plays easier when the greens are running around 10 because it is much more predictable and easier to read.
The turf conditions all around arenprettt good for early April. Considering we have not had much warm weather here in Eastern PA. The new management has put some effort in over the past couple of years and it inspiring off. 13 Yee box is closed. Not sure why but it makes an interesting par 5 into an easy par 4. The San allmaround the course is a problem. Lots of dirt in the bunkers. They need a lot more f help. The greens need a rolling to speed them up and it wouldn’t hurt to cut them a bit lower. Again Inrealize the grass has just started growing.
Pace of play was horrible. It took nearly five hours to play. There was one group of younger players in front of us (millenials). I hat to use labels but no consideration for others. We waited every shot and there was no one in front of them. Not even a though of letting us through. I appeal to those who know better to teach some golf etiquette when playing with others who are unaware. We didn’t see a ranger once and this course has GPS that monitors pace of play and where you are on the course. MH needs to do a better job here.
All in all Inpay this course a few times a year. I’m always challenged, send me time frustrated but glad I played.
Great Spring Outing
This was an awesome day for golf in SE Penna. Above average temperature and just a little bit breezy. The course conditions were excellent for early Spring.
Greens, fairways, and tee boxes in great shape. The two bunkers I wandered into were in terrific shape, and the others I took notice of appeared to be in fine condition as well. That being, that the bunkers were raked and filled with sand (vice hardpack, dirt, stones or puddles). I came alone, but played with three other who wanted to play from the green tee's. I obliged, but it made the course a little too long for my abilities on a few holes. Having said that, it did give me a new perspective on this course, which I have played 5-6 times previously. The variety of holes on this course, the scenic views, and the fine upkeep, make this a "must play" if you have the opportunity.
Nice track
The more you play it the better it gets, was in good shape for early in the season. Carts have new gps that works great! Will be back!
This course is a sleeper!
Played this course at 1050 hrs and only saw 1 other person on the course. We had a foursome and we were taking our good old time since we were the only ones on the course. It was cart path only and as a result our round was 4:30 plus due to ALOT of walking up and down hills.
I wasn't expecting too much since the reviews aren't great and the price was so reasonable. To a man we were shocked at how good the course was. There were several greens that are struggling but that didn't take away from the course. Theres not a flat lie or a flat easy green anywhere and the views are better than anything in eastern Pennsylvania. You are way atop the Delaware River and you can see as far as the Pocono mountains through a gap in the Appalachian Trail. There are severe elevation changes. The one par 3 was 178 yards away but the elevation drop made it play 142. Several absolute blind Tee Shots which would have been helped by a little local knowledge.
As I reviewed my round I could recall every single hole as they are all different.
This was probably one of my funnest rounds and might be in my top 10 courses.
Great early season round
After a very non golf friendly winter a beautiful day to golf arrived. The course was in great conditiion especially for being the end of March. I have played Morgan Hill many times and the layout and views always impresses.
Due to all the rain that we received last month all the courses in the area have struggled with keeping up with the rough. All the rough is mowed and course is in great shape. Green speeds have improved as well.
