Morgan Hill Golf Course
About
The Morgan Hill Golf Course in Easton has a somewhat misleading name since you'll find more than just hills on this challenging course. Be prepared to face a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. The golf course has a dramatic design that is carved into a hillside, which makes it a hard course to walk but one that is visually interesting and tough to play. It may not be a layout for the faint of heart but the scenery alone is enough to provide enjoyment. Golfers can enjoy scenic views of the river, but scenic respite is the only break you'll get. There is hardly an even lie to be found and the severely undulating greens will test even the most seasoned golfers. Also, be prepared for a slew of blind shots at Morgan Hill Golf Course.

NICE GOLF COURSE. ALOT OF HILLS AND CHALLENGING SHOT. I LIVE 5 MINUTES FROM HERE AND FOR THE MONEY ITS A NICE COURSE TO PLAY, ONLY IF YOU PLAN ON SHOOTING HIGHER THAN USUAL.
Morgan Hill needs better course maintenence. Sand traps terrible
Rough too high-too many lost balls. Traps in poor shape. Some greens poor condition.
Dangerous
Too much and high stop guards installed on the hill path made very dangerous.
My cart collapsed down because of many steep slopes.with high stop guards.
Unimpressed
The Maintenance crew has done pretty good considering all of the terrain they need to maintain, but they are losing some greens and tees. I don't expect too much when I play such a hilly course. Took over 5.5 hours because of the 2 groups in front of us were VERY slow, and this was a Thursday. This was unacceptable. I called the pro shop on #10 and they did nothing. The didn't fix any ball marks on the greens (they said it's woman's work when I confronted them), they always play slow, and they don't spend one dollar in the restaurant or pro shop. Frustrating round for everyone behind them because the whole course was backed up.
Never Dissapoints
This is one of my favorite courses. Definitely not for beginners or low skill level. It's challenging. What I like is that no two holes are the same and the back nine has tremendous character. You won''t forget it.
Going down hill fast
I really like the course and the views but something needs to change fast. Pace of play is terrible. 5 1/2 hours for a twosome is a bit ridiculous. I get it, it’s not the courses fault that the have a foursome with 3 women in it playing from the men’s tee box. Quite honestly all 4 should have played from the reds. Hole 1 took them 21 minutes. I mentioned to the starter before hand that he should put us before the 4 but he said he couldn’t. Then it’s a shame that 2 of the par 5’s number 1 and 13 have been shortened to 400 yards from the tips. Oh yeah don’t try and order food. We called the restaurant from hole 8 which tools us 40 minutes to make the turn only to be told we needed to wait 10 minutes for our food. Lastly our cart died on 13. The staff responded well and delivered us a cart that they spilled gas on so we smelled that the rest of the round.
Morgan Hill
Course has a very challenging layout, not sure why some greens have black dead areas on them and 13 a par 5 , tee area was all black and closed off , making the hole play only 347 yds , in any event there are super elevation changes, beautiful scenery looking down on all of Easton. So even with damaged greens, greens big enough to not have to deal with black areas, play this course if you get a chance!
Fall Beauty
Hot Deal pricing and beautiful views inspired the 80 min drive from NJ. Save fir two greens , course conditions were impeccable. A brisk wind and cool temps for our 10:50 tee time. Pace a little slow due to slow insructional foursomes bottle necking at the turn. The course a challenge for our 18 handicap weekenders, but great value and the views make for an enjoyable fall round. The 12th par 3 inspires greatness.
Great course, but it's always something..
Got married at this course in 2012. I would highly recommend their venue and the views are spectacular. Since that time, I've been trying to get back and play a full 18 holes. I'm out of the area so whenever I'm up I give it a shot. Each time I've been here though, with the exception of once during winter, it's been normal price but there's been something down. Wether it's closed tee boxes or greens in need of repair, I would call ahead to make sure you're getting the full course experience first. I recently found out there are no longer blue tees and green is as far as it goes so add that to the list. The putting green was also very spotty in regards to grass and wasn't even remotely identical to the on course conditions.
The course itself is an amazing design. It plays longer than it says on the card because of all the elevation changes. It's a challenging tee shot on just about every hole. Wether it's directional or distance, there is always a need to place your tee shot if you plan to score. The staff in the pro shop as well as the restaurant are extremely friendly and love to talk golf. The greens are fairly fast on the smooth parts and there are some really subtle breaks that can play with your mind. A couple two tiered greens will make you rethink your choice of sports if you're on the wrong level.
This time around, though, it was a couple closed tee boxes and the majority of the greens had bare spots from some sort of blight. The staff obviously tried to keep the holes cut on places where they weren't a factor but most were still in play. It was just really surprising that nobody said a word about it. I could understand if it were one or two holes but every green had bare spots. A lot were very large and the guys I was playing with were having to putt through it a few times. Luckily or unluckily I generally had a hard time hitting greens so I could chip over and around it.
Traps were manicured and very playable, as was the rough. It was long but fair. Fairways were very nice, though again... I realized too late that my cart had an empty seed mix container. Also the carts have built in GPS which does wonders for pace of play as they track all the carts and tells you when it's safe to hit on the blind tee shots, but of course the unit on my cart wasn't working. I felt a little jipped paying full price again and again and I've only had it once without any issue. Here's hoping for next time, but I'm definitely calling ahead.
Elevation change abounds
Nice course with Great accommodating staff. Course In good condition a pace of play always seems good. Great place to master uphill and downhill lies! Undulating greens challanges the best of putters. Stay below the hole! The views of Easton, Phiilpsburg and down river are outstanding. Great value.
Awesome deal
A well maintained golf course, great job to the maintenance crew.Pro shop also was very friendly and helpful due to our first visit. We will definitely be returning.
Pristine Golf Course
Played Morgan Hill several times, golf is on great shape, and Maintained very well. Would recommend this course to experience
Many challenges waiting
Played this course more then 20 times over the years. Always a fun and challenging course. This round was the only time the greens were not acceptable. Many greens were in need of repair.
The people who review this course poorly are clearly just bad golfers who found the challenge too overwhelming. I have played hundreds of courses in the tri state area and can almost definitively say Morgan hill is my favorite course to play. Period.
Good time
I played the course through a hot deal on golf now so the price couldn't be beat and playing here was a no brainer. The course was in good condition with the exception that a few greens needed work. The layout gives the course some challenge. The rough is thick and it hasn't changed since I've been coming here.
Nice course and worth playing.
What views
Accuracy is premium on this course. Some greens had patches that were being repaired, other than that course was in good shape. Was surprised the warmup area was in disrepair. Faiirways were generous but you had to know where to land ball.
Greens were a little tricky to read. Overall good experience will definitely play again.
What the heck happened in 3 days that this course went from "pristine" to the track that we played with bald areas on the greens and closed teeboxes?
