Morgan Hill Golf Course
About
The Morgan Hill Golf Course in Easton has a somewhat misleading name since you'll find more than just hills on this challenging course. Be prepared to face a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. The golf course has a dramatic design that is carved into a hillside, which makes it a hard course to walk but one that is visually interesting and tough to play. It may not be a layout for the faint of heart but the scenery alone is enough to provide enjoyment. Golfers can enjoy scenic views of the river, but scenic respite is the only break you'll get. There is hardly an even lie to be found and the severely undulating greens will test even the most seasoned golfers. Also, be prepared for a slew of blind shots at Morgan Hill Golf Course.

Morgan Hill
This one of my favorite courses in this area. If you use Golfnow you can get some great deals
Hills,hills,hills
Not one flat lie. Never played a course that every single hole has an elevation change. Most greens where damaged. Not an enjoyable round. Way too many blind shots.
Real Golf!
This course is challenging. You will find out where your game is at. And you will find like minded individuals. Hilly, diverse set of holes, great views and the 19th hole might be the best in Eastern PA.
Gps a nice addition
Course is in decent shape. Little bit easier to find golf balls now with gps on cart. Lots of blind shots but overall good value for the money.
Great spot!
A true test of your golf acumen. There is no flat lie on the course so you need to be able to have all the shots. There are a few short par 5's that making scoring easier, however, some true tests on the par 4's make par a premium. Three solid par's 3's make par around here a good score. The head golf professional, Patrick Mallory, could not have been more accommodating. He made sure we were taken care of the moment we walked in, The food is a great bonus to a fabulous day of golf. Will definitely be back for more challenging and fair golf!
Fun Challenging Course - Great Day of Golf !!!!
Great golf course. We play here at least once a week and always have a great time. Layout is great and the course is always in awesome condition. The greens have already been aerated for the fall back in early August and are rolling extremely quick right now. Every cart has GPS which makes playing so much easier. The back 9 has some of most amazing views of the Lehigh Valley area. My favorite hole is the par 5 15th. With a great tee shot you have a good chance of getting home in 2 and looking at an eagle putt. The staff is very accommodating and will go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. The best part is their newly designed outdoor bar and patio area overlooking the first 3 holes and 18th green. You can sit back and relax after your round and watch groups finish. A must play if your in the area and get the wings after golf. There delishous.
AWESOME GOLF COURSE
When I looked at the golf course online to play and played for the 3rd time this year I laugh at the negative reviews! This golf course is the real deal! Played all over the country and would play this every day if I could! To see the layout and the views is one in a million. It's clear the bad reviews are from people who just played like garbage and want to spend the time to vent! Pro shop has a plaque hanging behind register stating top 25 public in the state and now I know why! Only a few greens had some heat stress on the crowns but every golf course I played this year has the same! The course is in awesome shape! Best time to play is the fall with the views. My Uncle plays here twice a week and when arrived the staff was very helpful so again I laugh at the reviews that knock the staff! Go play in North Jersey where every round you play is 6 plus hours and a $100!
Good and bad
Ok I'll start with the good. Fun layout with elevation changes on every shot. Wide fairways give plenty of room for miss hit shots, still giving an opertunity to get home in regulation. Now the not so good. Pace of play is always an issue here, even when the course isn't full. Many greens have large dead patches. I've played this course three times in the last calander year and still have never been able to use any of the tee boxes on the 13th hole. They have you teeing off from the fairway making a par five a short par four. If it's wet or damp on the carts paths use EXTREME CAUTION going downhill. You will slide and possibly flip on 11 and 12.
No excuse for this
We had a 7:00 am tee time, first group out. Arrived at 6:30 to an empty pro shop. The 7:20 group showed up at 6:45 and they too were surprised to find no employees there yet. The pro shop guy showed up at 7:05 and as he got out of his car all he could say was "who turned off the heat". No apologies, no nothing. Then had to tell us how he had to run a red light to get there to open up. Won't bother makIng the trip out there again.
Awful pace of play
From the tee shot on the first hole up until the second shot into 18 we waited throughout the day. Not once did we get to our ball or the next tee box and were we able to hit our next shot.
There were two very slow foursomes ( husbands and wifes) ahead of foursome in front of us that backed up the course all day.
No ranger on site to monitor play and expedite the groups either. SEveral holes were open in front of the lead group
NEARLY 5 1/2 hours to play 18.
Greens had been aerated several weeks prior it appeared and nearly every green had signs of some sort of fungus as well.
Will probably not return to this course even though it is a short drive from my home.
Coach
Unbelievable layout with great views of the surrounding areas due to the elevation. Must play course!
Bad course, bad staff
Staff was unfriendly. Starter could not figure out how to pair rounds and keep pace moving. First told me to start on 1 behind a school group that could not play, then sent me to 10 were there were 3 groups waiting. Then back to 1 but said to not tee off until school group was on 3. Started round 20 minutes late and still caught group in front of us. Course is build were ever they could make a hole fit not laid out were you could actually play. Balls would trickle off hole even if you landed in fairway. Greens were horrendous. Almost all sand. No grass. Had black spots all over. Ball would jump and hop all around when you putt. Tee boxes not set to proper yardage for color of tee. Some tee boxes blocked entirely. One hole you had to tee off from the fairway. Will not go back to this course ever.
Wow, the hills
Played with my wife on Friday and this has to be the hilliest golf course I have ever played. Greens were a little rough but they were huge with large modules on them. Up and down but quite a view in the back nine, great facilities and I will be back, maybe without the wife. Too much course for her.
Not for anyone lower than a 10 HDC
Morgan Hill is an extremely challenging golf course not for the mid to high handicap golfer even from the shortest tees. Since it's in a housing development, (though the houses have no interference with play,) you have many novices making six hour rounds a norm. I only play Morgan Hill if I'm the first time. As a scratch player it's one of the toughest courses I've ever played. It's long, demanding and will penalize you for even good shots due to the brutal green complexes. I recommend for low handicap to go once for the challenge so long as you can get the first time but anyone higher than 10-12, find somewhere else. You won't enjoy it and will most likely will quit at the turn after your three hour nine.
Bring your A game
If your tired of playing easy courses try Morgan Hill. It's hilly, challenging and scenic. The restaurant has a very nice setting and the people are friendly. Not so much the pro shop/starter but the restaurant is great. Not sure how much play the course gets. The sand traps on some of the holes were in bad shape. If you can walk this course you're ready for the Marines!
Really nice experience
Played the course with two buddies and it was the first time for each of us. Course setup is great for high, low and mid handicappers like us. Course was in great condition, tee thru greens. Staff was pretty friendly too. Only knock was, we didn't get to tee off until 35 minutes after our scheduled tee time. Don't know if that was the 'norm' for the course or we had bad timing. Also, course only allows booking for 2 to 4 golfers, no singles. Which is bad for someone with a flex schedule like myself, cause I can play just about anytime, whereas my buddies can't. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'm looking forward to golfing there again, whenever my buddies can find the time.
Disappointing
Have played Morgan Hill a bunch of times over the years. Generally have enjoyed it but this time was disappointing.
First off, the pace of play was atrocious. We were waiting on every tee box, starting right off the bat at the first hole (sometimes for 15 minutes). It took 5 hours to play. There really was no starter, just a guy who took the receipt and threw it in the trash. Seemed like it was a free for all on the first tee, just get in line and go. No structure, no adherence to tee times. There was no ranger in sight at all. In fact, the staff we saw all day once we were out on the course was the person driving the beverage cart.
More concerning was the course setup and condition. The blue tees were not even set up and the green tees (the second-longest on the scorecard) were moved so far up on a few of the holes that it was a joke. There were bare/burned out spots and cracks in some of the greens, but at least they kept the pins away from those areas. The greens and fairways were generally in pretty good shape but you can tell they're struggling to maintain it. The tee boxes on #13 were all inexplicably closed (they looked fine) and the tees moved up to a temporary area in the fairway. That made the hole play as a 335 yard "par 5."
It's a shame because this course can be a fun layout when setup and maintained properly. At least you can enjoy the views when the pace is that slow. That's about the only good thing I can say. I won't be back here for a while, this round left a bad impression. At least they don't charge an arm and a leg to play this course, the greens fee was fair.
