One of the best in Western PA if you can look around the price tag.
Great course; very challenging; some great views on the course; clubhouse castle needs a moat :-). Greens super fast with lots of bends and breaks.
One of the most beautiful courses I have played.
Course was in great shape, lots of scenery. Challenging but really enjoyable.
Bring your A game
Great layout, loved the hilly back nine. Range balls were complimentary so arrive early to enjoy hitting balls and chipping on the roomy practice range. The greens putted fast and the undulations were challenging. Well worth the golf now rate. Courses like this are diificult to play the first round out even with GPS on the carts. My slope equipped bushnell helped out. Will be going back soon to play the 144 sloped black tees again soon
Great track north of Pit!
This is a great track about an hour north of Pit... holes and views on the back nine are outstanding.
Visiting Pittsburgh For A Convention - Played The Course With Rentals
I did my homework as to which courses I wanted to play if I had the time. Both myself and my wife are avid golfers and always have our clubs with us on the road(not this time we thought we'd have no time). When we arrived in Pittsburgh we found out that our conference would end early and that we had 2 days to golf. Problem, we didn't bring our clubs. Called Olde Stonewall and were reassured we would be using fairly new Taylormade and Ping Clubs. The staff came through, the clubs were everything you expected. They weren't your own, but were still decent. As for the course. I caddied in 2007 in the U.S.Open at Oakmont. This place might be a notch below, but holy cow it's a close second. One of the best public courses that I've played in the world and I've played in Maui, Lanai, Florida, the Rocky Mountains in Canada.... From the back shop guys, to the pro shop, the staff was top notch constantly asking you how your round was going. About a 45 minute drive from downtown Pittsburgh. A beautiful scenic drive. I shot 81 and I'm a 4 handicap. The course was tough but fair. My wife has been playing for 2 years now, shot 103 and that's where she usually is at most courses. Trust me you get what you pay for, the whole experience was top notch. Thanks for making the Canadians feel welcome and making our golf experience at your course a lifelong memory!
