About
Broadlands Golf Club in North Prairie is one of the most popular public golf courses in the Milwaukee area and also one of southeastern Wisconsin's best values. With a wide-open, virtually treeless landscape, the course has a traditional links design. It offers plenty of challenges but it is also not overly difficult for high handicappers. Water comes into play on a few holes, mostly on the front nine. Emphasis is placed on proper club selection, especially for the finishing hole, a downhill par 3 with bunkers and native grasses framing the two-tiered green. It is an especially tough hole on a windy day. The golf course is versatile and accommodates a wide range of skill levels. Its playability has made it a popular host for amateur tournaments and outings. Broadlands Golf Club also has a driving range for golfers to use.

Soaking wet course Tee Off won't cancel
It rained all morning the day of play. I called tee off to cancel and reschedule. They will not do it for any reason except course closing and of course the course will not close because of rain. I was forced to play on fairways with enough water to plant rice. Score reflected that. What a waste of time and money. And all because tee off has unreasonable cancellation policy
Nice layout - great greens
First time playing here, it's in the middle of nowhere, but I'd go back again. The greens were perfect. They held, rolled true and smooth. Kudos to the greens keeper.

This course has gread features
I was surprised by how well this course played and the condition that it was in, There was a little back-up on the front nine (which in this case was played after the back nine). Greens were faster than I anticipated.
Fun But Tough
Broadlands is really well designed course that features something to please everyone. The course is exposed to the winds throughout and can especially be felt from several elevated tee boxes. The front nine features numerous hazards while the holes on the back nine are surrounded by natural areas that can make it difficult to find golf balls hit out of the intended playing corridors. The course ends on a demanding par 3 which is a cool twist when compared to the majority of golf courses. The winds help keep Broadlands dry even when it rains so you can get a lot of rollout in the fairway while greens can be firm and resist holding approach shots. Broadlands is definitely one of the better public options in the greater Milwaukee area and I always enjoy playing there even if my scores aren't that great.
