Good course. Fun layout with some memorable holes. Greens were rolling extremely fast the day I played. Downhill putts were gone if you didn't sink it. Overall the course was in great shape. Would definitely play it again.
Could use some bathrooms and cold water on the course.
The greens and first 5 holes are great, but then…
We drove down from Atlanta to play this course on the way to Silver Springs. Upon driving up, I was pleasantly surprised. The course looked pretty good!
The practice area was nice. Ample space on the range with good balls. A nice putting green and chipping green. The Bermuda greens were solid!
So things started to unravel when they didn’t have enough carts to go around. We teed off at noon and they didn’t have a cart for me. Told me they’d bring a cart to me when one became available. Well, our tee time came and went. So we teed off and I walked most of the first hole before they brought me a cart. No apologies, just “Here’s your cart.”
The first 6 holes were pretty good. Nice layout, decent playable conditions and great greens. Then we get to the 7th tee and things went sideways.
Pace of play came to a screeching halt and the course took a turn for the worst. They apparently ran out of good land. The 7th hole is a joke. If you’ve never played there you just hope your ball lands somewhere in the fairway you cannot see about 75’ below. There were a few decent holes down the stretch but the middle of the course was a bit laughable.
The conditions of the course went downhill quickly and the routing became a hodgepodge of weird zig-zag holes. Weeds and un-mown areas everywhere.
I do have to say, the greens were in fantastic shape throughout. However the slope on some of them combined with the speed made them very difficult. If you were above the hole, you were doomed to 3 putt.
Overall, for almost $80, I feel we could have done better.
. Great Day on the Course
The Course was excellent and the Staff was very friendly. We met the Owner on the Course and it was great to see him hands on with the Staff.
It keeps improving!
Cider Ridge has been among my favorite courses for a number of years, and it continues to improve! This was the best condition I have seen it in. I believe even greater things are ahead for Cider Ridge! My wife and I were impressed enough with what they have done and in what they have planned, that we made the decision to become members. The tee boxes were in great condition, the greens were rolling very well. I did run into a pet peeve of mine... others players failure to repair their ball mark on the greens. I highly recommend Cider Ridge for your next golf outing!!
Horrible player management
Started out great course is in great shape but no cart girl and we was waiting 20-25 min per hole, no golf educated
Spooky
I thoroughly enjoyed playing Cider Ridge! If you can settle your nerves to hit precise blind golf shots , you can have a ball playing the course. The elevation changes are intense. What made it so much fun was the pace of play. We had the opportunity to drive up and see what was required to play each hole, so that was a plus.. Even though the greens were freshly top dressed, they were still quick and putted true. I have already made plans to play Cider Ridge again on my next trip to visit my grandson in Atlanta.
Nice value
The course was really wet. I know this spring has been a challenge but right of the bat I hit one down the middle on one and did not find the ball. It must've plugged somewhere. Remained pretty wet on the front especially. Caught up with a foursome and they were gracious and let us play through. That greatly helped our twosome pace of play.
Cider Ridge definitely tests your abilities!
Cider Ridge is a great place to test your abilities! This probably makes the 5th time I’ve played here and will definitely be back soon. I think to be a public course, it will be hard to find another one for comparison.
Bring your own water
Course was cart path only so we chose to walk. Don’t recommend walking unless you are an experienced walker. Several difficult hikes from green to next tee especially 9 green to 10 tee box. Also, the water stations were basically useless. No cups were available and I had to tip the cooler housing forward just to get a little bit of water. No “cart girl” services were provided so basically on your own for hydration. Course was in decent shape despite the soggy conditions but the greens were disappointing. Very few of the Bermuda greens gave you a smooth roll. The greens have been better in the past and not sure the conditions of the greens can be blamed on excessive rain. Did get a good deal on GolfNow otherwise value for the money would have been 3 stars instead of 4. Gave amenities a low rating because of lack of drinking water on the course and because we paid for range balls but the machine was empty. Had to scavenge a few balls left over from others.
reid
great course had alot of fun, played 18 and would 100% recommend it, greens and fairways are in great shape.
Beautiful Course Skeleton staff
I really like cider ridge and will continue to play there. I am disappointed they have not staffed the clubhouse bar/grill. Course conditions were great. Greens had been punched and sanded but that's maintenance. No starter at the first tee and alot of single and duos caused a confusing pace of play. We played casual but not too slow. We let singles and duos through and still got held up a little.. Overall a great day off golf. Just wish there was at least a hot dog or something at the turn.. The grill hasn't been staffed in a while and it makes me wonder what's up.
Favorite course.
Can’t beat the staff, course, and price. By far my favorite place to tee it up! 🏌🏼♂️⛳️🤘🏼
Great Track, Great Value, Great Staff!
A few guys and I were traveling from the Atlanta airport to the RTJ Trail in Alabama and wanted to play a course on the drive over as a warm up. This course, the staff, and value was awesome!
