Hospitality ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The hospitality provided from the time we arrived til the time we left was absolutely phenomenal. The course was in great shape. TONS of hills but made for a good exercise and a good challenge. Can’t wait to go back.

A Beautiful Facility

Our Group Played in Less than 4 Hours. The Course was in Excellent Condition. The Golf Shop Staff and Maintenance Staff were very courteous. The Owner was checking out the Course and stopped to speak with our Group asking for our Feedback. We will definitely be back soon. The Price is very inexpensive for this type of Course.

Great challenging course

Enjoyed the Ridge very much. The residents around the course jump in and out of play as they go through the day. Got to play with a gentlemen who was super friendly and kind. The course is not forgiving outside of the fairway. The greens were punched not too long ago but still faster than most anywhere else.

Fantastic Facility

The Golf Course Conditions are Very Good. It’s Hard to find a Better Conditioned Public Course in Alabama. The Staff is Very Friendly and the Practice Area is the Best in the Area. Our Group Plays across the SouthEast and will definitely Return. We came on a Busy Day and still Played in Less than 4 Hrs.

Great Job!!

You’re on your own

First off, this course layout is one of my favorites.

Unfortunately, it is run like a putt putt course. You pay your dues and you are on your own from ther.

The young staff will collect your money and give you a cart key. Then turn around and start watching whatever sport (not the Charles Schwab, or golf for that matter). They are friendly! They just have no training on dealing with golfers or how to work a golf course.

They do not serve food. So come stocked or already fed. No food//beverage cart on the course.

The range balls serve out several freshly mower cut golf balls. There are 8-10 non member range slots and half of the range is apparently reserved for members?

There is no starter, so you watch for an opening on the first tee and go for it. If you are like me and book as a single to join with a group, you have to keep any eye out, or your a solo in the middle of the groups. If you’re fortunate, you will find non-members who will allow you tot group up with them. Members act as though you are a ghost.

There is no on course management, so expect a 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 hour round.

There is no management, period.

Love the course, wish it was ran like the course it could be. If I get a deep enough discount to play I may play again. Otherwise, it’s a risk for a terrible experience.

Great Course, Even Better Value

Course was in great shape. Nice clubhouse, solid range, well kept tee boxes, fairways, greens, and bunkers. For the price, I haven’t played a course better.

Just don’t

No cart person, starter, Marshall. Grill was closed. Fairways like concrete, horrible layout. The only good thing was the range and decent range balls.

Sub par (no pun intended) outing on a beautiful day.

I was excited about trying this course for the first time, the pictures were great, it had good ratings, the website looked professional, but once I arrived at the course I had a bad feeling. The pace of play was fine, although there was no starter or Marshall. There was no cart “person”, the grill was closed, we were unable to buy anything at the turn. The course conditions were not great as well. The course layout is incredibly challenging (I’m a 10 handicap). Every hole seems like filters towards the wooded areas, tie that together with concrete like fairway conditions and it equals a very very long day of looking for drives that you stripe right in the direction you were aiming. I will not be back, there has to be a better course in the area.

Cider Ridge Features

Overall, the course was in very good condition considering the time of the year. This was the first time playing and hope play again during the summer months

The greens were very good and rolling true. The fairways was okay but I know they will be great during the growing season. Now, some of the tee boxes needed some care but I think they will be good after the growing season.

Don't bother making a tee time

Don't try and play a quick 9 at anytime of day. Members literally run all over this place, tee of wherever they want, rude and zero etiquette for the game of golf. I saw enough after three holes, they can keep my money. Sadly, I will not return and this was my favorite place to play in the area. There are better, cheaper and much friendlier in the area.

Found the Fairways

Course was in good shape despite some recent heavy rains. First few holes play like a Florida course when then gives way to a mountain course much of the rest of the way. Mountain course gets a little tight, but the fairways are forgiving with their slope pushing balls more toward flat ground. Staff was friendly and the group of five in front of us played pretty fast. No complaints at all - will bring some more of my buddies to Cider Ridge. I prefer to walk when I play, but this is not the course for walking.
