Deer Valley Golf Course in Hummelstown boasts one of the most affordable rounds you'll find in the Hershey/Harrisburg area. Since opening in 2005, more than 850 trees have been added and it has matured into a course favored by both visitors and locals. The layout features large, elevated greens and massive multi-tiered tees. From the golf course's peaks, the views stretch all the way to Hershey and the Blue Mountains. The winding layout twists and turns, doglegging left and right. It's a challenging layout round despite the absence of sand bunkers. There is however, thick rough and a number of grass bunkers to watch out for. Water only makes a brief appearance. Deer Valley Golf Course isn't overly challenging but for a fun and fair test, it's an affordable option that also offers some beautiful scenery.

First time
We got paired up with a great twosome who were very helpful with giving the course layout for us. But apparently it was getting set up for a tournament as our tees were further back than normal and the greens were very difficult to read. Either way, we had a great time and will definitely be coming back. Pace of play was fantastic for a Friday morning. Almost broke 100 lol
Deer Valley a very nice golf course
Deer Valley is in excellent condition with some very challenging greens.

Great course
Well maintained and pace of play was great for a Sunday morning, only had to wait a few minutes if that for the majority of the round. Got paired with 3 guys I didn't know and had a great time.
Saturday play
I usually don’t play weekends but got offer from my son. It was crowded but rangers kept everyone moving along. Course was in good shape. Greens were fast. Some hole placements were a bit difficult!

Starter issues
I had a 10:21 tee time for 3 golfers. While I was waiting to tee off “on schedule”…The starter put out a group of 7, out of turn …and made the round drag all day. What’s the purpose of reserving a tee time if the starter is going to change the tee sheet to “accommodate” the “regulars”. Otherwise, I enjoy the course and the conditions
Sorry you had a frustrating time at DV. Like most public courses, we occasionally make adjustments to smooth out the schedule. In your situation, we moved your start time down one tee time. We do our best to accommodate everyone.

Course was in really great shape. Friendly staff. Length of course was perfect for my wife.

Fantastic
Course in excellent condition. Played the round (threesome) in just over 3 hours. Not the longest course but the greens made it challenging. Wish I was local.
