Course had “army worms” or the worms that eat root systems. However the grounds crew was doing everything possible to kill the pests. Outside of that couldn’t ask for more. Greens still pure as ever. Little slower than usual on pace for their greens but still nice.
Side window
I’m not sure I quite understand the “side window”……. When we checked in, the guy did not even offer to let us know if we needed any food items or pro shop items we could purchase them through “the window”…….. perhaps the window is due to Covid??? If so, I am having a hard time understanding why the staff member was not wearing a mask, why he stuck his head up to and almost through the window. If the side window was NOT because of COVID, it was a great inconvenience for those of us who needed balls and like to purchase souvenirs. I felt the customer service was lacking. No warning that the greens had just been punched/ aerated. We didn’t know where to return the the cart when we finished. .
Good wide fairway golf.
Don't go the HWY 35 route if you can help it. This course is just off HWY 72 and HWY 79. Just outside Scottsboro, Alabama.
Awful course conditions!
The course should NOT have been opened today! It was wet, soggy , muddy and cart path ONLY! Totally unplayable! I’ve been playing this course for 30 years but driving an hour to get there today and paying the GolfNow green fees was not worthwhile! A total waste of time and money!!!
Consistently Good
Some people might say that the cart paths at the Plantation Course are in rough shape and the carts are old and dilapidated.
Others might complain that the crackers sold in the clubhouse are stale, or that the course is a pretty pedestrian layout.
But nobody will ever say that the greens at the Plantation Course aren't excellent or that the course is poorly maintained.
That's what you can expect at the Plantation .. good fairways and good greens. And that's why I keep coming back.
Enjoyable, scoring course.
Always a good time at the plantation course. The greens are pretty small, but run purely. Find them in regulation, and score all day. Confidence building course.
Somewhat Challenging
I like this course. The greens had been sanded so putts were not rolling true. Normally are so much faster. Played after the rain and the course was still in great shape. For the price on golf now hard to beat the price
We enjoyed.
Got play to hangout with your buddies and play a round and have a drink
Good course.
The course is in good shape overall.
Only complaints I have is that the greens are cut too short and dry. It's hard to play any shots close to the green because they would either roll out super fast or now roll out at all.
Second, the fringe was wayyy too thick. Needs some trimming. Almost impossible to chip out of it because it was so thick
Everything else was great. Tee boxes in great shape and fairways in great condition. Fix up the greens and fringe and I will be there every weekend.
