Dunes/Bluffs Golf Course at Boulder Pointe Golf Club

A shot gun start outing scheduled for 1:00 . Tee off booked for me was 9:25 , and there a few after us . I'm not a math guru , that does not make sense . Then the full slate of tee off times prior our 9::25 didn't help especially when no ranger around to push play and even suggest golfers may want to use the appropriate tee boxes . I drove an hour to enjoy a round of golf . I can watch golf on tv . I don't need to travel any distance sit in a golf cart for 3 of the 4 hours I was on the course , watch some guys with golf swings that make Charles Barkley look smooth, play 11 holes establish no rhythm . Oh well the holes we played were in good shape . Boulder pointe did give us a rain check for nine holes , that was nice but I'm not sure if I can set aside a week day for round of golf that should only take in my opinion 3 To four hours . I would not recommend this place unless you have a ton of patience , and absolutely nothing to do all day . Not a good experience. I' would hope the course plays at a quicker pace on other days . I can only speak to this day and the mix up in scheduled tee off times.

Played here on the way up to northern Michigan for a golf trip. Loved the course. Very fair and if you play well you can score well. Greens are firm and quick. Staff couldn't have been nicer. My only complaint ( not really a complaint but there only thing we didn't care for) was they had hitting off of mats on the practice range. Loved there layout. Rounds took almost 5 hours but the guys if front of us weren't very good so that didn't help. Can't wait to play here again.

greens run true and the layout is great.the pace of play was 3and one half hours on a weekend fantastic. I have played over 100 courses but this is one of my favorite. I drive one and a half hours to get there but it is well worth the drive. The hotdogs were outstandings also the starter Bill was a great help. Keep up the good work

Boulder Pointe is in pretty good condition. The fairways, greens, and tee box areas are in great shape. The bunkers have some rocks in them so just steer clear of the bunkers and you'll be fine. 2 of our 4some was 25 minutes late but it was no problem as the starter was very accomodating and got us off with no problems when they finally showed up. The pace of play was great, in fact we were probably the slowest group on the course and finished in 4 hrs 15 min on a Saturday at 1:30. Clubhouse is nice and the lovely bartenders pour a stiff drink. If you've never been to Boulder Pointe you need to give it a try, but make sure you get a good deal on it. $35 or less and you'll be happy. They have 3 nines there, I would suggest Bluffs and Peaks.

The course was in great shape! The only thing that stuck out to me as a MAJOR flaw was the bunkers/sand traps. They were flooded with rocks to the point where you couldn't even hit out of them!!! Plenty of the rocks were even larger than the golf all itself. Other than that it was great, a little on the pricey side, but a good round. Greens were flat & rolled nice, well maintained.

Been looking forward to playing here since its a more expensive coarse around here challenging coarse just didnt see 60 bucks a round value for prime time not too bad at 29 twilight though.

3 distinct and different 9s. Was once a gravel pit. Peaks & Dunes are the toughest. Played the Dunes to Bluffs. Enjoyed the nice conditions of the tee boxes, fairways, and greens. The holes were nice and spread out. The fairways were very fair, wide enough to give you a little room to work the ball, but if you missed you would pay and be in the tall grass. First time playing Boulder Pointe - played Bluffs to Peaks - and I'm just sorry I haven't played the courses sooner! Fantastic conditions! Shot a mid 70's round primarily because the greens were in such exceptional condition. 29 putts and not one 3 putt all day. Greens were medium- fast and the ball goes where you think it will go - no tricks. Tee boxes and fairways also in great shape for mid-summer. Some really nice hole layouts on both 9s, challenging but really fair if you keep the ball in play. Also enjoyed the tunnel trip under M24 from hole 1-2 on the Bluffs:). I was able to get a ridiculously low last-minute rate on GN, but the normal weekend rate is reasonable based on other courses of that caliber in the area. Definitely one of my favorites now, I will be back and looking forward to playing the Dunes. I'm also thinking the courses will be golf postcards in the fall!
The only drawback I could say is the lack of ball washers, or at least a few buckets of water throughout where you can wet a towel. Other than that, an excellent facility all around.

Don't believe any negative reviews! If you want to play a track that is in as good a shape as to host a PGA event...play here! Beautiful fairways and greens, thick rough, wide fairways, elevation and undulation, greens surrounded by water, 27 holes, and fairly priced..........we'll be back! Only an hour away from us. Carts do not have GPS.....web site is inaccurate.

We play Boulder Pointe each time we travel to Michigan and we always enjoy the course. Greens, fairways and Tee Decks are in very good condition but the Sand Traps need alot of attention.otherwise very enjoyable day.

Converted gravel pit. Interesting holes. Challenging but fair.

Some courses would call their fairways greens! It had just downpoured the night before and we were allowed to use the carts freely as it was not that wet. The staff was friendly, the price was awesome and the course was one of the best! We played it in just over 3 hours and can't think of anything to complain about other than my score.

Played Bluffs to Dunes in early AM. After playing through two 4somes had course to myself. Encountered lots of course maintenance personnel but that's ok - course was in great shape except for the darn cottonwood seeds that were were everywhere on the Bluffs. Wide fairways and fair greens make for a very playable course. Only drawback was length of several par 4's on Dunes - but that could have been solved by moving up a tee box. Very friendly staff and rangers. Nice range but plastic mats - no fun! Great value for the money.

I Have played this course a number of times. It is always in good condition.

Generous fairways ,some greens faster than others, courteous and friendly staff. Five hour round, probability because of one of the three 9s were closed, no ranger seen on duty. My wife and I had intestinal issues after eating chicken quesadillas at Gimmies restaurant at course. Try the burgers . instead.
I would recommend the course, as its an enjoyable round of golf if a little faster play.

Only 2 of the 3 nines where open. When we got to the starter, he wanted our twosome to wait behind 3 foursomes and a single. He would not let us go off a second nine.
He turned his back and we did anyway. Our pace of play then was excellent.
For such a typically expensive course I was less than impressed. First, they have drainage problems. Secondly, the "sand bunkers" are more like gravel bunkers and they had not been raked in a while.
The quality of the grass around some greens was mixed.
If it wasn't for the great deal I had with GolfNow, I would have given lower marks. But for $25 for two, it was acceptable.

The course offers you a variety of different hole layouts, challenging for the average but not punishing. The staff was great, the course was in great condition even with the rain prior to our round.

Clubhouse was good enough to issue a rain check. Nice staff and look forward to playing here again. Recently moved back to Mich. and Boulder Pointe was one of my favorites places to play in the past.
