Wet, but wonderful
The course was in great condition, though it rained, you could still drive around almost anywhere. The greens were a little slower because of the moisture, but this did not keep the track from being a great place to play.
Eu de toilet
No wind on the front 9 so the stench of decay was potent.
Greens were slow, not quite shag carpet but pretty sticky.
"grab and go" selections on the turn ended up being a 13 minute wait not good for keeping place of play
Good not great
Overall this course is in fairly good condition considering the time of year.
My major complaint is the condition of the greens and speed of play.
The course is good to learn on.
I like the way it's laid out but it needs more trees . The hills are great. On hole 4 needs a lot of work like the big sand trap need some grass on the east side of it. On holes 7 and 8 needs trees to block the baseball field.
Food and course
The food around the turn wasn't what I expected. I know we don't golf for the food, but they could step it up. The course needs to bloom and be cleaned up. Greens went from fast to one to airrated and bumpy on the the next. I will play course again nice open links course
good
Good golf course.I like play there.good condition. green and yard.
Great course, Great time!
I played on a Wednesday in mid-September. The course was beautiful and well maintained. My friend and I felt like we were in Scotland going to the first hole. We're both at about a beginner-intermediate level, and we played our best games to date!
Beautiful course
I really like this course. It has a nice layout with different types of vistas on every hole--from woods, to grasslands, and even a lake with elevation changes to boot. I highly recommend this course on a weekday, weekends are overcrowded and the pace of play slows down considerably.
Good conditions but not a traditional links style course with heather as advertised
Very good conditions. Greens rolled well but they are very undulating. One of my major dislikes about the course is the several blind tee sheets on the front nine. I wouldn't typically have issue with this but the cattails and wetland areas are so overgrown that you can't see any piece of the fairway on a couple holes. Also, in traditional links courses, you can typically find your ball but it would be buried in tall grass and heather; however, on this course, the tall grass is filled with scrub bushes, cattails, and tall wetland type grasses making every ball you hit a near automatic lost ball in a non-hazard. I was also disappointed in the course layout since there are several spots on the course where multiple greens and tees are jammed together making it disruptive to players on different holes while other golfers are passing, headed to their respective holes.
Great course
Great course. Plays a little slow due to the heather. Overall great place to play.
Highly playable
Excellent for all types of players! Green were in great Shape!
Nice course, friendly staff!!!!
Very Friendly staff!! Red (the starter) gave us great course tips and was funny to boot, a great asset to the staff at Sanctuary! Great views from the tee box at #1 & #10!!!! Will play here again for sure, love the links style!!!!!
Good course. A different layout.
A good course but you need to play it a few times due to a few blind tee shots. You'll also have to watch out for the holes that run parallel with each other. There aren't trees to knock down errant shots. Greens could be a little faster but the views on top of the hill make up for it.
Link Course near town
This is a very good link course, Fairways and greens were very well maintained. Bunkers need more care. Cannot play out of mature heathers.
Slower than a snails pace
Nice course, no rangers to be found, we finally quit after 14 holes and 4 hours. Had to wait on every shot. Greens were inconsistant but in good shape.
Avoid it like the plague unless you tee off between 7am and 8am.
This course was beautiful. It was in great condition & was challenging to my golf game.
The green conditions were great the fairways were great the staff was awesome. The only bad thing was it took 3 hours & 15 minutes to play 9 holes because we went at 11:00 am on a Saturday so I would suggest to go early on the weekends or anytime during the week & you will love this course
Good layout ... few challenging holes that will make you think about club selection
- Course in great condition .. was bit wet from overnight rain
- Being the first one out we could finish in little over 3 1/2 hours
Great Course for $35
The course as a whole is absolutely gorgeous, from the way the holes are set up to the condition of the fairways and greens. There was only a few areas with severe patchy grass problems, but I've played on at least 10 different courses ranging from cheap and subpar to expensive and high quality, and they've all had them. The staff was friendly and the pro shop was nice. I received a 20% off coupon for the pro shop which allowed me to buy some discounted merchandise.
Overall, I would recommend this course for anyone who wishes a step up from the $18 courses. In my opinion, $35 is a steal for 4+ hours of entertainment.
Overall a decent course
Outside of some very dry patches in the fairway and rough, the course was in pretty good condition. Especially the greens.
Nice challenging course
Ist time playing this course. Offers good challenging holes pin placement was a little tough on a few. The course is a bit of a maze so you have to pay attention to signs to make sure you are on the right hole. Definitely will play again. Gave a 1 star for food and drink never saw the beer cart and was thirsty
