Sanctuary Lake Golf Course

Interesting layout...fun and challenging. Perhaps a few too many blind shots. I'll need to play this course a few times to get to know how to manage it. Course conditions very good. Clubhouse very friendly and helpful. I'll be back!

Course requires some attention but overall, it was a pleasant experience. Challenging holes, especially on the back 9 where you have very narrow fairways with water on one side and forest on the other. Very hilly also, to add to the difficulty.

A little over 4 1/2 hours to play. Waited on almost every tee (sometimes for 2 groups). Most likely because the course was short and twosomes were not paired up (and we never saw a ranger or even a starter). Greens were a bit worn but otherwise the course was in good condition. Many holes had a significant change in elevation. Since the course is built over an old landfill, be prepared for occasional whiffs of unpleasant odors from the numerous vents scattered around the course.

I found the course in super condition although being on a trash fill the stench at times was very smelly to me. This was the first time I noticed the aroma, I've played this course 4 times in the past three years.

We enjoyed the course. It is attractive and has something to offer for golfers of all levels. The pace of play was slow but it was midday on a Friday in August. However, we still would have appreciated a marshall on the course to help speed up play.

This was our first te ever playing here. We enjoyed the challenges this course offered.

The cons- #4 & #17's tee box positions didn't make a lot of sense in the were they were located. Very dangerous while standing on #4's tee box. Also, the pace of play was extremely slow and the ranger never sped it up.

A links on top of a landfill - nice course - has some tricky holes but overall is pretty playable. The course on a Sunday was SLOW - 5 and a half hour round.

Excellent course if you enjoy a challenge- many elevated tee boxes, very punitive rough, greens are fast and tricky. I would not recommend for a short hitter, will be a very frustrating test.

played here because it is close to home & needed to avoid the 30 minutes each way journey to cheaper courses. we paid $38 which is much cheaper than the very expensive regular price, which i would not pay even for the convenient location. the course layout is very strange & not your normal go out & then come back in on the front & back nines. due to this layout & the elevations changes walking is not allowed. the course was in great condition, with good sand in the bunkers & the greens were undulating & very difficult to read. the course appears to be short, but with the elevation changes don't be fooled. will play again for the discounted price only.

The course is challenging for all levels of golfers depending on which tees you utilize. The course had some water damage as well as damaged fairways. Because they have a lot of vegetation, they should spray for Mosquitos which would help make the play more enjoyable. The sand traps were mud traps and could not be played out of.

A great links course within city limits. Short but challenging at times.

This course was challenging and well kept, great deception and strategic golf is the day on this course. The staff was great, from the ranger who indicated the difficult holes and how to play the challenge to the server staff with smiles and well mannered food was good too. I will go there again.

Average price. Well maintained. Nice traps, greens, fairways, and tee boxes. A little more course then the land available allows for. Strange cart drive from some greens to the next tee box. Overall I had my best scoring round of the year, so I'll be back!

Course offers a good variety of holes.I like that the par threes are so different from one another. The par fives could be a bit longer , I think only one par five plays as a three shot hole.

Liked the course layout, however what I took away from my round was it was hard to enjoy,when you are stacked 3 deep on every tee. Also tried to get a bite after our 3 hour front 9 nine only to be told that the clubhouse closes at 4:30 on Sunday. Really? You are sending foresomes doing 18 holes after 4 p.m and offer no ammenities in the way of food or beverage? Won't be back.

Tee times were booked too close so it took 5 1/2 hours to play....very slow.....would be a great outing if they sent groups out with sufficient time.....especially since they know the course....there are some blind tee shots after hole one and that should be taken into consideration for tee times

The staff at the course was great from start to finish. The course is a links style with some heather and very few trees. They did what they could with the water hazards they had but could use more.
Considering the lack of real hazards play was slower than expected for earliy on a Sunday morning. The course layout is odd with alot of time spent driving past tee boxes for other holes to get to my next tee.

Well kept for the beginning of the season. The pace was steady. It was really cold today, the course let people take a rain check after nine. I was impressed by that, usually that doesn't happen. Have great deals on golfnow.com
