First time
Great little course! The layout makes up for the short course. I’m not a fan of grip it and rip it courses. Course knowledge is definitely a plus when playing here. This one will be in my normal rotation.
I booked 3 days in advance and played the day after Memorial day. Management put Monday and Tuesday leagues out that morning and the course was completely backed up. A 6 hour round for a twosome on a Tuesday around noon is completely unacceptable.
6 Hours. Not the first time….
After the front 9, which took 3+ hours to play, we asked the staff again to send someone out to see where the holdup was. Their response was “lots of non-golfers out here today” and that was it. I get it. It’s a holiday weekend and pandemic golfers are do not seem to want to bother with learning course etiquette. It’s the staffs job to educate them. There was one group that was the holdup. 2-3 holes empty in front of them. All said the round was over 6 hours. 6 HOURS. The staff didn’t seem interested at all in trying to remedy the problem. Holiday weekend or not, 6 hours to play 18 holes is a complete and utter joke. Extremely disappointed this course doesn’t seem to give a rip about enforcing pace of play (this is the 2nd 6+ hour round I’ve had to suffer through in the past 2 seasons. There won’t be a 3rd).
Sunday Golf
Played Beacon Hill for the 1st time in about 4 years due to geography on where I live.
The tee boxes were on horrible but the course was great and the greens were tough with tough pin position
It was great round good times
course was in very good condition
greens were in nice shape
alot of blind shots for someone who has never played the course before
but I would return to play beaconwood again
Great spot!
The course was in great shape despite being wet from the rain the night before. A lot of challenging holes, but none that seemed insurmountable. I imagine some of the fairways are going to be tight once leaves make an appearance.
I also did not want to leave a review for rare of play since it was the first good weekend weather of the season and I’m sure everyone has plenty of rust to work off. Off course amenities were unused.
So Glad I Came Back
The first time I ever played this course, I arrived late, and played so badly I did a 2 ball self scramble for the last six holes to protect my handicap lol. The whole day I was behind scoring and couldn't really enjoy myself and how good this course really was. I came back six days later for redemption and shot an 82. It's not my best round, but good enough to enjoy myself. And boy, did I! From the tee box to the greens, everything was in excellent condition. There are a few beat up spots such as the black tees and bunker lips that border the out of bounds that is always a threat on this course due to the suburbs this course winds through. The views on 12, 16 and 18 are unreal. You think you're on the Mediterranean Sea I kid you not. and there is a great balance between short easy fun holes such as 6 and 14, and super challenging ones such as the 210 all carry par 3 2nd, and holes 5, 7, and 12. The greens rolled excellent and they were a good speed. The amount of elevation change they were able to implement working around the suburbs and lakes amazed me but I really liked it. A bunch of people think I'm crazy that I like this course cuz they think its claustrophobic. I agree that its not a good course for someone new to the game cuz you can't spray it at all on like half of the holes, but if I want to get better, I've gotta learn how to play on courses where the property isn't just a big rectangle. Beacon Hill is the farthest from a big rectangle you can get, but out of the courses like that, I wouldn't want to play any other metro Detroit course of that variety than Beacon Hill.

Too many people
They need to space the tee times z10-15 apart and it would go much smoother
Well maintained course.
Course in excellent condition and friendly people.
Fastest round ever
I think we finished in 3 hours just the 2 of us. Tee off at 1230 and finished about 330 without catching up on anyone. Couldn’t believe it.
1st time playing
Course was in great shape and roll on the greens was excellent. More holes with blind shots than we are used to, so had to drive ahead a lot more to make sure we weren't shooting into another group. They should have more signs up directing you to the next hole, especially for first time guests and the cart paths were crazy rough.. Overall we had a fun afternoon and will be back for another challenge.
I recommend it
The course is good condition,
The pace of play was great.
Overall a very good experience
Good time
Tough course
Not sure if this was a tough course, if I just played terrible. Or a combination of both. Nicely maintained course.
