Avon Fields Golf Course
About
Avon Fields Golf Course is one of the older golf courses in Cincinnati, where it sits on picturesque land that rolls along fairways lined with trees - and it's easily accessible to downtown. The golf course provides tests and good times for golfers at all levels, with elevated and diminutive greens for those who like to play short golf, as well as those who need more practice at it (for those who need more practice in general, the Jimmy Woods Learning Center is onsite).
Avon Fields Golf Course provides 18 holes of par-67 golf over 5,081 yards. Tee off on a par 4 that plays to 369 yards. The course is short compared with megacourses being built elsewhere nowadays: About a third of the holes come in at under 200 yards, even from the Blue tees, while only the fourth hole, the lone par-5 hole, stretches to over 400 yards from the Blue tees.
As the Avon Fields Golf Course is a municipal golf course, expect affordable green fees, and those who can swing a round of golf during the workweek can expect them to be even lower.

Great Course, Great Value
The course is wonderfully designed and mixes in par 4 and par 3’s perfectly. Fun course if you’re in the area.
Nice local public course
We enjoyed 18 holes at this neighborhood course, which is not a long one but has a nice layout. It is not fancy but that is not important to us. Greens and fairways were in pretty good shape- there are some drainage issues that the course is working on, but it didn't affect our play. It is convenient and cheap, and provides a really nice experience for the money.
Awful pace of play
Went here for the first time with a friend. There was a foursome in front of us we caught every tee box and would not let us pass. Hole 9 had dug up sod in the fairway. The holes are on top of each other. The pro shop worker also tried to double charge us. There was not any good course etiquette.
Solid for the Price
$25 for 9 holes, super quick play time, can’t complain there. Course was in pretty solid condition for this point in the year. Would give it a 3.5 star if I could but I’ll round up because the pro was friendly. Only small problem was the grounds crew didn’t stop for players and I had a mower chasing me on hole 8 and 9
Solid Course
Avon was a great course to play. It’s very narrow which forces the golfer to play strategic golf. The course is in great condition and the price was competitive with other golf course around the area. Shout out to the Avon staff that were very friendly and accommodating to the golfers. The pace of play was slow at first but that was because of golf league. It quickly picked up pace after the 2 holes.
Play often here. Felt a little pushed by players behind. Nowhere to go.2 foursomes in front.adverse effect on my game for sure. 10 strokes difference on the back. Pace. It is important
Congested. Awful pace.
I’ve played here a handful of times. The absolute worst paced course I’ve ever been on. Constantly standing around waiting for groups to play. You are rarely able to play through slower groups. It has absolutely ruined my time the last few times I’ve been here. I wouldn’t suggest this course for anyone that plays even bogey golf level golf. You’d have to be constantly 2 over on every hole to be on pace. Absurd.
No carts were available
I booked the tee time. Drove from ky to downtown Cinci. Got to the course and no carts were available. The clubhouse said “sorry we have control if we have carts or not.” Zero accountability from the two 17 year olds in the “clubhouse”. Makes the game of golf look bad. Be better.
Pergect
The staff was awesome and they did great managing the course, had a frost delay so a backup at the start.. the pro was a great guy as he was the nicest person and let us go off back 9 as the delay for 18 wasn’t within our timeframe so this helped tremendously.. wanted to play 18 but 9 worked out.. in town for Bengals vs Raiders ( they stink ) so had a day for a round of golf.. course worked very well for my girlfriend as there weren’t any par-5’s..She is a new golfer and loved the course..
Rude
CRC should consider ousting the head pro at this golf course. I golf here mostly for convenience, I cannot count how many times Ron has been rude and unreasonable. Then I read these reviews. He needs to learn to block times on this app or have a complete attitude adjustment.
No par 5, tightly packed course. Poor grounds maintenance.
