Shale Creek Golf Club

Clubhouse, food and staff were good. Course was not in the best condition. A number of ground under repair areas, bunkers need repaired and debris throughout the course needs picked up. Course should be better maintained for the prices.

Well kept course challenging for intermediate level golfers - but you can score if you're playing well. Course was immaculate when we played - perfect greens, maintained fairways, soft bunkers. Will definitely play again!

course was in excellent shape. Staff was very friendly and courteous. The house steak burger and the Lagerhead Witte in the Grill were outstanding.Perfect day at a perfect course.

I am not a great golfer but the condition of this course made me better. I also have a better appreciation for golf having played at Shale Creek. Stay out of the rough on this course.

Really enjoyed my first time on this course. I look forward to playing again when the grass and rough are in full season. Sand traps are rough right now as with any course this time of year. Just stay out of them and your good.

Newer style golf course with lots of long rides between greens and tees, got some houses around but many are out of the way so it doesn't make you feel like you are swinging in a telephone booth. Front 9 is pretty wide open and lets you swing away but pay close attention to the gps on the cart as water that you cannot see comes into play on a few holes, Back 9 winds through the Rocky River on holes 10,11, and 14 and is very scenic. Its a shame the greens were in rough shape as they were aerated probably only a week ago but definitely worth the trip and would definitely make the trip out to play Shale Creek again when the greens are right.

1st time playing the course and my mistake in waiting to the end of the season. The course was in very good condition. Tee boxes were ok, greens were in great shape and fairways were cut and well maintained. The only problems we encountered was the bunkers, which were very hard and the front nine greens had just been aerated, which made putting difficult at times. Will be back next year!

The course conditions were excellent, but challenging, the staff was helpful and made certain our group understood the best way to play the course. The greens rolled true and were pleasantly quick. If you can control your ball you'll enjoy this course.

Definitely a must play course. Links golf, but a challenging layout. When the wind is blowing good, like my round a few days ago, the British Open has nothing on Shale Creek (ok, except for the ocean). The course is in great shape, and Rob M. and the rest of the staff are always so friendly. It's definitely a country club feel, without being a country club. Love playing at Shale Creek.

Good course with thick rough. Must stay in the fairway or be very good at getting out of trouble to score well. Only downside to the course is the proximity of the housing development.

One of the best courses in Northeastern Ohio. Regular price is &56.00. We used our Hot Deal & paid $39.00. What a deal. Everything about this course is great. A brand new, beautiful clubhouse. Excellent fairways and greens. A must play if you live in or are visiting the area. This course is in my top 5 for the area.

Enjoyed the course although greens were a little slow

I was very excited to see Shale Creek and the Quarry become available on golfnow, because prior to that I was unaware of any discounts to be had at either. However, if today's conditions are representative of the new norm, then I won't be back. The course wasn't in bad shape, but it's not in the same shape as it has been the last few years. The greens, which used to be firm, fast, and smooth, were the exact opposite today. They were spongy, slow, and bumpy. Given that it hasn't rained hardly at all this month, the weather certainly can't be to blame. The tee boxes were ok, not great, but not too shaggy, and the fairways were nice and firm. To summarize, I really like the course, but if today's greens are the new norm, I won't be back. I'd rather pay $65 for the way it used to be, than the $45 I paid for today's condition.

Shale Creek is one of my favorite courses in the area. It has a great mix of challenging holes and birdie holes, plus it allows you to step up and rip the driver on almost every hole. It also finishes with a very good 18th hole.

It was as if the course hadn't cut their greens for a week. Greens were slower than molasses on the fourth of July. Went in their with high expectations. After one hole, I was brought back to the sad reality that is Shale Creek. Outrageous prices for the conditions. Felt Robbed.

Starter was friendly, and got us off a little early, which was appreciated - BUT, it took way too long to play. Granted it was a beautiful, sunny, Sunday and it was crowed, but I think a ranger would have helped... Never saw one the whole day. One of the men in a group ahead of us, was giving shot lessons to his female partner, the whole round! Hey - I'm a woman and I think it's great that he wanted to help her - but not on a packed Sunday afternoon!

I love Shale Creek. Its a beautiful links style course with a fantastic layout. Challenging course that is always in awesome shape and I always seem to play well here. The staff is very accomodating and super friendly. Free range balls with your paid greens fee as well. For the discount on golfnow it is WELL worth it. Without, its rather pricey, but still worth playing. Highly recommended for golfers with some game, yet you don't have to be a single digit handicapper to play well here and have a great time.

Well maintained course, Greens and Fairway are good always condition. Mostly Flat with few water hazards. Front nines has lots of new houses throughout the course. Back nine has a few.
Good course but expensive.
