Clearwater Country Club

About
Located just minutes from the beach, the conveniently situated Clearwater Country Club sprawls across a coastal landscape of Spanish moss-draped trees and towering, mature oaks. Stevenson Creek meanders through the golf course, coming into play on six holes. Built in 1920, the layout has a traditional design that is challenging but fair. The course is tight but it plays long, especially on the par 5s. The rolling fairways are well manicured and the greens play at medium speed and are consistently well maintained. Clearwater C.C. actually has a reputation amongst locals for its superb conditions. It is also popular with visitors, snowbirds specifically, since the club offers the area's only seasonal and short-season membership with exclusive privileges. It is also one of the few clubs in the area that allows walking.

Signs don’t match the holes, impossible to know the yardages even with using a gps app because nothing matched. There is a hole on the back 9 that has a green less than ten yards right of a tee box making it dangerous, any bad shot could easily knock someone out. Terrible hole design
Greens in great shape, tee boxes rough, fair way rough in a lot of spots. Course has changed front to back score cards not available. Notice not given
Clearwater Country Club Review
Course was in beautiful condition and had a great day golfing!! Staff was friendly. Made reservation through Golf Now so was able to get a good rate - $53.00
Return to Florida
Course was in great shape. Greens were fast but true. Too bad my putting wasn’t up to par.
Pace is ridiculous
Tee times were booked 7mins apart… that’s crazy to start.
I was an add on to a tee time, they had 5 people on my tee time so I had to switch. Course overall was okay but the pace was awful. Took 6+ hours to finish a round
hurricane leftovers
Considering a hurricane had just gone through the area a few weeks prior, the course was in pretty good shape. The greens were recovering from aeration so it was a bumpy ride to the hole They had done a good job of cleaning up the course to make it playable It was still a bit wet, but at least you had grass to hit off.
A tired, old course
I think Clearwater Country Club has seen better days. Mind you, I played this course after 2 recent hurricanes and considering that it was actually in fairly decent shape. The holes were quirky, and there were few memorable holes. It was hard to tell where the fairway ended and the rough began and there was a lot of random sand covered golf cart paths. I’m not really seeing how John Daly golfs here.
Builder
Have played this course several times and was happy except for my last trip. Fairway grass is so thin and sparse it’s like hitting off of dirt.. think I’ll wait awhile till I play there again
Memory lane Walk 🤩
Fantastic experience playing a 103 years old course .
I can just imagine the greatest golfers having played it .
The memorabilia on the walls made me chill 😎
Will definitely return ⛳️

Nice, old times layout and track 👣, home to the famous John Daley, I heard. Tight fairways, greens are very slow but well maintained.
We flew through, non season, on a Tuesday. Enjoyed the clubhouse conversation with Annie, she was a hoot, worth the price of admission (and a couple Chardonnays).
Great venue. Definitely play it!
Everything about this country club is exactly what you want. Interesting holes and course layout. Greens were in great condition. Very friendly staff and members. Great value for money, I will certainly be back to take on the water on the 5th hole again.
