New Ownership
They just punched the greens 3-4 days ago. New owners bought it. They have closed the 1st hole to resod the fairway. The realest of the course would be normal MO conditions. Greens should be back beginning of August.
review
Since I live in Hudson, Meadow Oaks is very close to me....one of my favorite places to play golf....not too difficult, not too much water or sand hazards.....greens were good but some of the fairways needed some water......Always enjoy playing there ....looking forward to my next round someday soon....
Putter stolen
I was visiting from Miami and My old ping putter was stolen at the putting practice area , never expected this happened here.
review
Meadow Oaks is always a fun place to play golf...the course itself is not very difficult especially from the forward tees. It's in pretty good condition; however, there are some fairways and greens that need attention......and the yardage indicated on the scorecard doesn't seem all that accurate....my buddies and I think the course is shorter than advertised, which is a good thing.....The front desk is always very friendly and accommodating.....and the breakfast special with the 9 hole rate is also pretty good....
Nice Pace, Course could use some improvements
I always like to be fair when I review a course so first things positive, then later, some of the issues you may agree with when you play.
Value was great on Golf Now, played for under $30 at 8:17AM as a single. I asked Pro Shop if they were going to send me out with a group. Surprisingly he said no one else booked that time, went out by myself and after 3 holes caught up with a foresome but they were playing the yellow tees and only had to wait 5 minutes per hole.
Tee boxes were chewed up pretty good. The greens were not bad but play very slow in the AM as the morning dew is heavy until 10AM. Once dried out greens were fine.
Fairways had many landing areas where there wasn't any grass, just dirt. This course plays shorter than the score card indicates. For a good golfer I would say its too easy. For older players like myself, it isn't hard to bogie most holes.
I had a good experience playing there. Another player caught up with me and we played together. He was younger and was hitting off the furthest tips. I warned him about the overgrown branches and moss that blocks good tee shots. This course needs a good tree surgeon to trim back the low hanging branches. They are unnatural obstacles at this point an prevent hitting tee shots slightly to the left to get fades back to the fairways that dogleg right.
Hidden Gem in Hudson
Great course for the price.
Some of the holes will test your skills
Staff is very friendly especially Lynn in the Pro Shop.
When we finished we had breakfast in the Cheryl's Cafe
Cheryl and Christina will whip up an amazing breakfast along with some great conversation.
You need to give this course a try, you will not be disappointed.
Sunday Funday
Solid Course making a comeback, been playing for years. Back 9 much better than the front so don’t get your hopes up at the turn. Cheryl at the bar is fantastic, honestly her smile and friendliness is a top reason we come back. Looking forward to the next round and course improvements.
Classless
This course will never be visited again by me or my wife. This group of patrons, starting with the most unfriendly staff ever all the way through to the average patron playing set us up to never return. We play somewhere weekly and like to visit new courses. This was our first time at Meadow Oaks and our last. The cigarette smoke, cussing, filth, trash, poor greens, poor tee boxes, poor everything is a vague description of just how bad this environment was. By the way, this is the only review I've ever left like this about a golf course. Yes. It is that bad. I recommend new ownership, new staff, and some small effort of course management as opposed to collecting money which is how this course makes you feel. PLAY YOUR NEXT CHOICE. Oh and yes, the "gentlemen" treated my wife with complete disrespect. Enough said...
Decent value for the money.
Played this course for Father’s Day. Overall not terrible. They sprayed green dye on the course that looked like garbage but they were attempting to make it look better. Delayed us about 45 minutes through 2 separate holes so that was fun. Greens were pretty patchy but got better in the back it seemed like. Somewhat cheaper course so get what you pay for. Still had a great time. Also very short course if you want to hit driver I recommend playin the tips.
Course Needs Some Care
Was traveling and played this course on a whim. Florida at the time was experiencing a little drought and that hurt the course a bit but some of the issues definitely preceded the lack of water. The greens were patchy and bumpy. They need to be reseeded. The tee boxes were minimally better. The course had many areas of no grass and just dirt/sand. I’ve played other courses in the south in dry conditions and this was partially a lack of care. The staff were all friendly and they had good food and drinks at the turn. Part of the reason for playing here was because I saw they rented clubs. I recommend no one rents clubs here. They were Top Flite clubs from the mid 1990s and it showed. Plus I didn’t even get a full bag. I got a D, 4H, two 5s, a 6, a 9 and a putter. I guess I expected something 2010 or better given the clubs we got were probably 30 years old. This course might be a local gem for all I know but it wasn’t for me that day.
My putter gone!
Course and staff was good, the only thing that was really upsetting was that someone took my Ping putter from my bag, before my round, i had to borrow one from the pro-shop, thank you to the staff members , they were very nice. Besides that the course was in a good shape overall.
Nice course
Love the layout. Fairway are a little dry but that’s all over in the area. Pace was great!
Great course
Fun layout, great people. Been playing Meadow for several years and it never seems to disappoint. Conditions haven’t been the best as of late, but it’s always an enjoyable round and experience at meadow oaks
Love this course
Meadow oaks has always been a home course to me. They care for their employees as much as their daily golfers. As a family owned and operated course I have and will always support this course in the good and bad times. It’s been tough this time of year with the drought, it’s usually perfect greens.
Pretty rough shape
We played here many times last year and it was in excellent condition, so we decided to play it again this year but to our surprise it's not the same golf course, it's in pretty rough shape.. not sure what happened, the staff at the club house and restaurants where super nice and friendly..so was the starter. The guy out on the course putting down fertilizer was very very rude he literally spread the fertilizer over us and nearly run our golf balls over on the fairway.. he came like 2ft from us and the wind blew that s#*"t at us we have to get in the cart and get away for while to let the over spray pass ..
They're trying to bring it back but it's going to take a while.. it's in pretty bad shape..
