Nice layout. Great value
We enjoyed playing this course. It was not crowded at all. It is a very nice layout. Definitely worth playing and will do so again.
Good Layout
Course is in good shape, it was bothersome to see several people driving carts off of cart paths and avoiding cart path only. They were also driving too close to green and tee boxes. Course needs ranger to keep the course from going down hill.
Give it some love
Greens were okay. Fairways spotty. Tees varied from bald to good grass. All were hard and dry.
10th hole the best one on the course. But for a stopoff dring from SWFL to NOLA it worked . We played in 3:40 !
Good Bang for the Buck
Played the course under rainy and windy conditions. With all the rain, the course held up nicely. The greens were in great shape and we enjoyed the course.
Freeze stops golfing
Called at 7 am this morning and was told the course was closed.
Had to reschedule our golfing this morning! Very courteous! Was really looking forward to playing but below freezing temperatures!
Called at 7am and Very nice guy at the pro shop told me that the course was closed until 10am due to below freezing weather. He said we could reschedule for another day. They run the best golf course any where around me. We will definitely reschedule at a later date! Would definitely recommend the s course to any golfers!
Course Continues as our Favorite
The Country Club at Lake City is our favorite course in the area. The course is usually in fantastic shape. The greens are in great shape and somewhat fast. The course layout is interesting with elevation changes, a beautiful lake, and ponds.. The staff is always welcoming and friendly.
Good course in Lake City
I was impressed with the conditions of the course. The fairways and tee boxes were in great shape and the greens played true. The Pro shop was adequately stocked with supplies. I will definitely be coming back to play at this course even though it was a 39 mile drive.
Our Favorite Local Course
We have played all over the east coast of the U.S. The Country Club at Lake City compares to some of the great courses we have played (top 100). The course layout is visually appealing with interesting land forms. There are holes along a lake and a few ponds. There are dramatic elevation changes we do not normally encounter in North Florida that remind us of the Gold Course at Williamsburg or Tobacco Road in NC. The course is always in good shape. The greens are fast and true. In North Central Florida, this is our favorite course.
Needs help
The course layout is great. The course potential is there. The tee boxes are sandy and run down. The fairways are dried out and hard. With the amount of water that is available to water this place and the fact it’s one of two courses in the area it needs to be kept up better. The greens were recently aerated yet the back fill is poor. Greens are like playing pin ball. This course has amazing potential but like the other course down the road there just doesn’t seam to be enough care. The club house is my favorite stop though. The food is good as well as the drinks and the staff in there are great.
Not a good value
Probably the best thing about this course was the layout, it was challenging with plenty of trees and rough To get into, but over all the course conditions were really poor, the fairways are mostly dirt. the greens are decent ,they roll pretty well and true. staff is not very friendly, And locals are not very welcoming. It is very overpriced ,considering course conditions and area. Staff claims that it will be back in another month, but still not worth the greens fee.
Great Course
Amazing Course. Awesome Layout. Great Condition. Augusta National like greens. Great Staff. Was home to one of the old Web.com Tour events (Lake City Classic), and had notable Competitors such as John Daly, Seve Ballesteros etc.
