Beats shoveling snow
Good layout in tough shape. But if you can get a good deal, it is fine for getting out and hitting some shots. Don't expect ideal conditions and you won't be surprised.
Terrible conditions
Greens were terrible. Some had patches of grass most had dirt and weeds. This could be a fun little course if it was cared for. I will not be back for any price.
Yes, it's in poor shape, but...
I've played this course for many years now, and never expected it to be in pristine shape. Nice layout, mostly "executive length", and reasonably priced. Right now, conditions are pretty terrible despite some visible efforts of over-seeding. Most likely, this might add some temporary cosmetic appeal, but what this place needs is a complete shut down and renovation. But if you get a good deal and just want to go out and hit some shots, this course will fill the need. Roll the ball over onto some vegetation and don't take things to seriously. Leave your putter in the bag since you won't want to putt on these "greens". There is a place for low-cost courses like this, and it gets my recommendation if you are willing to tolerate less than ideal conditions.
Practice only
The course is in terrible condition from tea boxes to the greens. I would only play it if you wanted to get a little practice in it a cheap price.
Course needs work
Live nearby and this course is a nice inexpensive par 60 course for play when in good condition. Unfortunately, they are having a sprinkler pump issue and it has been dry here lately. The result at present is the course is in very poor condition. several greens are completely brown and weed infested. Fairways are ok but lack grass throughout. Paths are rutted dirt tracks nature is slowly taking over the layout. I hope they turn it around soon.
Short game course
Of course is not in the best shape but good for the price and good for short game practicing, fairway was okay and green was a little chunky for putts. Overall is a good course for a short game practice. I wood recommend it, especially for the price. In my opinion I had fun and I would be back again.
Looks like the course is under transition to winter grass
Still got some bare spots , but for this price it a great place to play
Work on that short game or perfect for those new to golf
So it was between a bucket of balls for $10 or actually play a practice 18 for $23. I chose the later and was satisfied.i went out at 7am and literally never saw a sole. The lady working Sunday Morning at the clubhouse was very nice and professional and got me out quickly. I did not expect much from reading the reviews but will say it was better than expected because it’s a good layout and great place to work on that short game. If you are wanting a place to play a competitive round with lush fairways and greens this is not for you but if you want a place to work on something’s or just learning the game this is the perfect place. The course would take a lot of work, time and money to get it to a 4-5 star course but again for $23 on a Sunday Morning to get a quick practice round in it was perfect and would do it again. People were nice layout was nice and every green was playable just some weeds and rough spots and fairways were longer than normal but I have fun and accomplished what I intended too.
Jim
The course needs a lot of work. Some of the Greens have weeds on them making it difficult for true roll of golf ball.
Fairway have too many bare areas that you end up hitting off the sand, not dirt.
Disappointed
Sadly the course maintenance is almost nonexistent. We played there years ago and it was in much better shape. Some of the greens have no grass in large areas.
Sticks and dirt
It’s called the lakes, but we call it sticks and dirt. There are a couple greens that aren’t bigger than a postage stamp and it’s all dirt. No greens at all $15. You get what you pay for.
Cow Pasture
Do Not waste your money! It’s like playing in a cow pasture. I had fire ants all over me, fire ant mounds everywhere. There are weeds everywhere, no one is taking care of this course. I’m sure in a matter of time it’ll be closed unless someone jumps in and takes care of it.
A Hidden Gem?
Yes, I played after the 2 hurricanes hit however the course maintenance issues and the sad condition of the greens were NOT a product of storm activity! This neighborhood golf club has been clearly neglected for quite some time---the oak tree branches resting on the clubhouse should have been the first clue! The heavy, and I mean heavy (not cleared of fallen branches or mowed for weeks) rough made it impossible to find errant shots! I could see through all of these negatives and tried to focus on the layout and shot making however I came away with the feeling that "someone" needs to buy this property and revitalize it! If I were a home owner I would be livid from it's demise!
Need to maintain coarse
It looks like they gave up on maintaining the coarse. Most fairways and greens are full of weeds. Most greens also have dirt issues.
