A superlative short par-3, the fourth features a raised and well-contoured green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/20/2026

At the par-4 tenth, it takes a straight drive to find this narrow fairway. It’s not unusual, though, to find the water. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/20/2026

Fifteen just may be the finest par-3 at Schalamar. Measuring as long as 224 yards, it demands an excellent shot for a GIR. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/20/2026

2nd Hole: Par-5, 519 yards: The driving zone allows for a slashing drive off the tee, but on the second shot (viewed here) the fairway narrows like an hourglass. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025
-
6th Hole: Par-3, 180: A lengthy bunker nabs misplayed shots to the right and front of green six, as seen from the woodland. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

9th Hole: Par-4: Although 339 yards, this index 6 hole challenges you on every shot. A hook off the tee spells deep, watery trouble. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

Running as long as 400 yards, the 10th threatens not only with a daunting array of hazards—water, sand, trees, OOB–but also a tight fairway. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

This large pond encircles what is virtually an island green at the par-3, 125 yard thirteenth. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

The # 6-index hole, fourteen features a brilliant design, a trio of well-placed bunkers, and a long, lateral water hazard. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

Golfguy
Went to play as a single, starter said i should pair up with another single.i said that’s fine.was told we hide to ride together,i told him I’ve been sick and didn’t feel like i should be in cart with someone else,he said we would have to play separately.we both were playing behind a slow foursome .so we started to play together on second hole, the starter met us on second green and rudely told us we would have to split up cause members would complain.this made no sense, other than your starter being a jerk and the slow play, everything else was. fine
Enjoyable day
Very nice day. Paired with 2 seniors. Good experience. First time playing course. Nice layout course conditions 3 out of 10. Thats what you get for $30
Hidden Gem
The course was in pretty good shape given the drought and cold weather this winter. It is a fairly tight layout, so bring your straight ball. A good value in the golf market in this area. I would recommend especially for senior golfers.
Smooth Greens Amidst a Dry Spell
A solid short course, Schalamar has been experiencing the Lakeland/central Florida area drought for quite a while now. Mostly, this has affected fairway lies, which were very tight, and those in the rough, which were the same. Grass is almost nonexistent in areas. The greens and fringes were better, and putts roll smoothly and predictably on most greens. Tees could use further work. Generally, though, the course lags—a bit—two other area courses I’ve played over the stretch of a week.
The pace of play was slow, with today’s round taking over an hour longer than I had expected—waiting was prevalent on the tees. Fortunately, I was part of an excellent foursome, grouped with three interesting playing partners; our conversation was always stimulating and humorous.
As I’ve detailed in previous reviews, Schalamar is a strong layout. The course offers challenges but does not overwhelm. Your driver (or three-wood, on several holes) will need to be in good working order, and short irons must be on target into modestly scaled greens. Watery holes are common, but only a few forced carries turn up. Here, strategic golf and intelligent hazard placement go hand in hand. I found myself watching carefully how those hazards are placed, or else…
I especially like the way the putting surfaces are contoured, some of them subtly, others (such as the ninth) more boldly, as they tested my full range of putting and chipping skills.
I plan to play here a few more times, at least, in my winter visit to Florida.

Enjoyable Place Golf
We average senior players. We enjoyed playing this course for is well maintained Some T boxes could use a little more grass but this didn’t effect you play. Will return
Nice course layout.
Well maintained course. Greens are good, rolls true. Fairways are somewhat tight with water and housing complexes.
Great course for the price
A really nice track. Good fairways and beautiful greens. I played from the blue tees, appx 5300 yds. Fun and challenging at the same time. If you are on the west side of Orlando, I highly recommend it.
This is our “go-to” course when we come down for winter monthd
Has gone up considerably this year and that would be the only real BIG disappointment for the course
Paid $12 to play and that’s about right…
I paid $12 off a golf app and I’ll tell you what, that’s about what it was worth. Don’t waste your time unless you’re not a serious golfer. The greens were terrible, the fairways were lined with trees that if trimmed and maintained would be nice and challenging instead of impossible. Extremely wet. 90 degree rule not enforced. The course just looked like a woman who was pretty in her twenties but hooked up with a bunch of bad dudes and is now 40 with 6 kids trying to get with the 55 year old wearing too much gold and driving a motorcycle .
Just really fun
Is tucked away in Lakeland. But is a really fun layout and some holes on the back nine are very challenging
Challenging and fun course to play!!
First time playing this course. Great rate and excellent customer service. Challenging course for intermediate players. Greens not easy to read. Son and I enjoyed the round!!
