Good golf day!
Started out very chilly but warmed nicely. Pace was a little slow but the older group ahead was enjoying the day too! Good challenging course. Look forward to playing again when in the area.
Tight, challenging course
Overall a course every straight hitter can play. With the exception of a few head scratching holes, layout is playable. Fairways lacking grass but greens rolled true and medium quick.

First time golf in Lakeland
Beautiful, classic old Florida feel…5 sets of tees for all levels. Fairways in good shape, greens could some attention from a lot of play. Staff very welcoming.

Schalamar creek
First time playi g the course and if you don't have the guide book, very difficult to play. Even with the book need to hit it straight as the fairways are very tree lined and tight. Fairways need some more grass as did some of the tee boxes. Greens were a little fast and ran true. My group thought that they would be back.

Fast on the back
Not a bad value, course isn't in top shape, bumpy greens but a good test. Had a 3pm time, and thought we would only get nine in, but it cleared completely on the back and we played the last nine in an hour!
Fairways are sketchy, but I just fluffed the ball up as required.

Soft
The course was probably the greenest course I've played in Florida. I don't know if the course is naturally soft or it was overwatered. I had to clean my ball after every shot and a couple of balls got lost because they plugged in the ground. The greens were slow because they needed cut and rolled. Tee boxes were a little beat up. Overall this course has a lot of promise and I would definitely like to play it again when the conditions improve.

1st Timers
The only two issues were extreme slowness of play due to lack of oversight. The other complaint is no cart person offering food/drinks.
Other than those, the course was beautiful, the staff was extremely courteous and the experience was very pleasant.

Wet conditions
When we arrived we learned it was cart path only, no heads up so we could postpone. Did alot of walking.
