About
The environmentally friendly Blackhorse Golf Club in Cypress was designed by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy, who teamed to build one of the best 36-hole, daily-fee facilities in Texas. Designed to maximize the natural setting, this beautiful complex is a perfect setting for golf with its huge variety of oaks, elms, and wetlands that provide habitat for a wide variety of bird species. Holes 4-6 on Blackhorse Golf Club's North Course generally get the best of high handicappers. Holes 4 and 5 route through massive trees and expansive wetlands, both playing over 400 yards. No. 6 is the North Course's signature: a 180-yarder that tees over the bend of the creek to an elevated green enhanced with railroad ties and framed by bunkers.

Great course, beautiful view
Visiting my friend here in Houston, played 4 courses during this Thanksgiving holiday week. This is my favour. Great layout, good condition, great drainage. Raining was stopped one hour before my tee time, a little bit wt, but the course was not impacted by the heavy rain. Cart with GPS and rain cover. Friendly staff. I would give 5 stars if there were a bathroom in the middle, not have to hold till finishing 9 holes. Will comeback try South course in the future.
Great course, friendly staff but definitely overbooked. Pace of play ruined the round

Course and greens were in great shape.. Had to wait for tournament to finish, but it was only a few minutes later than our tee time. Marshal kept us updated on status. Excellent weather and a very nice course, it was a great outing.
Pleasant play
Hadn’t played here for awhile and found course in great shape. Weather was fantastic and enjoyed our playing partners. Can’t beat price through GolfNow
Golf Cart GPS nanny-state
I’m all for keeping golf carts off of the greens and wet fairways but the use of GPS to limit normal golf play including 90° rule and distance from Green is too much of a nanny state. Golf cart GPS constantly changing speeds causes whiplash and annoyance. GPS issues with carts cars delay in play of upped to 30 minutes because of stopping to get back on cart path when cart was on path. I would not recommend playing this course until they stop over collecting with the use of golf cart GPS to track every movement.
Blackhorse North
Always a nice course to play. My problem is it has gotten too pricey and exclusive. The golf cart cutting off every 10 minutes if you get within 100 yards of the green is super annoying. Not very crowded on a Sunday which leads me to believe they are out pricing themselves. I was a member for many years until it got too expensive. Courses are great tho so...
Golf Cart GPS - Over Control
I love Cart GPS but Blackhorse has overdone the GPS cart control. Cart constantly tries to regulate 90 degree and driving close to green but over does control. Real golfers know the rules and generally follow but to have cart change speed governor constantly slows play and hinders enjoyment. Cart would all of a sudden slow to 4mph because it said we did not follow 90 degree when we did, it would then jump back to normal speed with no rhyme or reason. Group in front had cart stop and say to return to cart path even when cart was sitting on path near green. We all lost 20 minutes while they tried in vain to get cart moving again. They called pro shop for replacement and they received one but not without course marshal accusing them of tampering with GPS which they did not. Marshall actually only brought one card and when golfers asked to use it he said that they would have to wait another 15 minutes while the cart was brought or they could walk instead of giving his card to them. Very very poor marshaling attitude. GPS should be a tool to speed play up instead of to slow play down. Me and my partner were constantly being thrown forwards and backwards by governor changing speed limit on cart. Until GPS system is replaced I would not recommend playing.
Not your average public course
Was nice to play on a well kept and fast pace of play golf course. Contours and traps keep you honest.
Look forward to the next round.
Dry and Wet
After 9 holes the rain came down...Waited about 25 minutes...Car path only and play the back 9...No problems at all
