Fox Hopyard Golf Club

They had 3 inches of need rain this week and course was soft but lush. Great layout and it is test of golf with many forced carries but a variety of tees. Carts have super plush seats and staff was very accommodative. Range balls included and beautiful place... Greens were a little slow which is to be expected and rakes in bunkers which is fine..

Great day

Right before my tee time, the sky opened up and golfers were pulled from the course due to the threat of lightning. The weather radar showed this would be the norm for the rest of the day due to cells passing through. Because of the long-term forecast, I asked for a rain check. I was rudely told by the young man behind the desk that rain checks are not allowed. I waited and talked to the more friendly club house manager. He confirmed that rain checks were not an option per the new management. Given the high-cost green fees for this course, I would warn all that if there is the least bit of chance of thunderstorms and the potential for your round to not be finished, do not book a tee time at this course. For me, the idea of not offering rain checks reeks of a course that values making money from every available tee time instead of valuing the golfers that find the time to make it to their course instead of choosing another. It makes one wonder if they do not want to honor a rain check in the future because they want money from as many tee times as possible. Ironically, this type attitude and practice will certainly keep me away from any future tee times.

Overall Id give this course a 6 out of 10.. Pretty good conditions.. The layout is TERRIBLE.. The "architect" takes driver out of your hands... Also this particular day had the most DIFFICULT pin placements on every hole.. The USGA doesnt do that on Sunday in the US Open..

The course is in very below average shape especially for the normal price. The greens were pockmarked and tired, and the teeboxes and fairways were eaten up. Course itself is beautiful and well designed but pace of play was slow and it was in very bad shape. Not worth more than $40 a round with a cart

So after a 2.5hr front nine, we were told by a ranger that the slow pace of play would be addressed, alas no. From the 16th tee you can see the 18th hole... nobody for 20 minutes. But when we got there, 4 groups on the hole. We started waiting on hole 3... ranger didn’t move the super slow group forward. 5 hrs in total, hopefully ranger got tipped heavily to hold the rest of the course up. I lost my head cover on my m2 hybrid and he was driving by on cart and I told him . He said don’t worry Dave I’ll find it for you , and he did !

We had such a great day . In this crazy time it was so nice to get out , have fun , and enjoy such a great track . Thanks again Andrew and staff at the hop . We’ll be back !

Played this course multiple times over the past few years, crew has done a fantastic job! Love the par 3's and 5's on this course!

Caught great weather on a mid-Vember day and the course was in great condition. The electric carts are virtually brand new with great seats and usb power port!! GPS/Nav screen too!!

Great layout. Challenging but fair. Don’t pass this one up.
