Fox Hopyard Golf Club

Love this course but the greens are in terrible condition. Not an aeration / fertilization issue, just numerous large bare spots on at least 16 of the greens.

Not worth the money they are charging right now. Sad.

We have played Fox Hopyard many times in the past and always found it to be in excellent condition. Not this time. Not sure what is happening there but almost every green was horrible! Large bare spots in multiple areas of every green (except maybe one or two). This was not a case of aerating or fertilizing, we can deal with that. It seemed either to be diseased or not properly cared for. Tee-boxes were not much better, but that seemed to be more due to play.

When we teed off we thought $71 was a decent price to pay for this course based on past experience, boy were we wrong. Current condition is playing at a $25 rate right now. Sad. We hope they can improve the greens soon.

Fox Hopyard is a really great track. Visually appealing, challenging, and overall in great shape - except for the greens. They have been punched, but that wasn't the problem. Something has had their way with them, leaving a bare spots on just about every one. They still rolled pretty well though, so it was more of an aesthetic problem - leaving them not up to the standard of the rest of the course. Staff was super friendly, and pace of play was excellent. It was a cloudy day with the threat of rain, so that might of helped.

If you hit the fairway, you are pretty much guaranteed a great lie. Not an easy task on some of the holes. For $49, we felt it was pretty much the right price point. If the greens were a little better, it would be an absolute steal. Hopefully they'll bounce back quickly. Still, a very enjoyable round!

I played with the Safari Group and we were over 100 players. The golf course was in great shape, but the greens were aerated. That aside the this is a great course with each hole being a different challenge. The pro shop and staff were very frienbdly and highly organized.

Played here for the first time last week with the Safari Club. Great layout! Challenging, but fair. Course conditions were very good. Although the greens were recently aerated, which is to be expected at this time of year, they putted true. Staff was very helpful. All in all, a very enjoyable day!

Great course, Great Facility, Great Staff = Great Day.

We played the Fox with the Safari Golf Club 100 + players .

This place is great every tee box gives you another great view of the beautiful layout . The conditions were great tee boxes and fairways were perfect the only down side was that the greens were plugged and top dressed but in most cases they were good and the rest of the conditions ,lay out and views made up for the greens.

If you are thinking about playing the Fox go for it you will want to return as we will very soon.

Played the course recently with the Safari Club and enjoyed every minute. No hole was the same and each had its own character and challenge. Course was in immaculate shape from Tee box to green. Greens rolled true even thought they were recently punched and sanded.

I am a member of the Safari Club (social golf group that play different courses every week). We are fortunate enough to play some extremely wonderful courses. Fox Hopmeadow has just move itself to the very top of that list. What a wonderful experience I had. The course is absolutely beautiful, wonderfully laid out , challenging, and plush. Staff were the absolute greatest. Polite, helpful and attentive to your smallest needs. Lunch was great after the event and a short trip to the pro shop after winning a discount coupon (lucky raffle ). I was extremely impressed with every aspect of the day and the event. Highly Highly recommended.

The Safari Club of Golf played here on September 4. It was our inaugural trip to this fantastic layout with well over one-hundred of our members in attendance.

Unfortunately, the greens had been recently punched, but we knew that going into it, and anyone with a modicum of common golf sense knows these annual maintenance issues are paramount in keeping the golf courses pristine. So no big deal there as the layout and facilities are truly SPECTACULAR.

The WOW factor was in play ALL DAY and we already have members asking if we plan on adding Fox Hopyard to our annual schdule in the future. I guess that sums up the Safari Club's experience pretty well.

Overall condition was rough. Tee boxes chewed up, numerous dead spots in fairways and around greens. Disappointing considering reputation

The whole course was just aerated. Great layout and staff was apologetic about course condition. But do not go here until conditions improve.

Very beat up whole golf course, it use to be in great condition but not worth spending time and money for this course.

The course was pretty beat up, as tees and greens, and many fairways were simply not in good shape, especially for the money they charge to play there.

I play this course once to twice a month. I always tell people it is by far my favorite course and would always remained they play there. But not yesterday. The fairways were in great shape. However, the greens were very bad compared to what they were like in June. There was black dirt patches on every single green. This really got me frustrated because the greens are the primary reason I live this course. Puts were bouncing all around when they hit one of these patches. All I can say is as of right now I would not pay the premium price to play there like I did in May/June/July.

Beautiful area. Nice facilities. Nice people. But... the course is goofy. Every hole has some nonsensical feature. !00 feet straight downhill...hidden rock walls...75 feet straight uphill...hazards crossing almost every fairway...holes where the one green and the next tee give you no place to hide from incoming shots...enormous greens with huge breaks...hidden bunkers...and on and on. Been scratch or better for over 40 years and wanted to quit this place by the 11th hole. Could be some peoples cup of tee (pun intended) but to me it felt like work and hard work at that.
