Killing the Grass
They are shutting down the course soon to redo fairways and greens so are intentionally killing all the grass so course was horrible shameful we were notified prior to booking and pre paying for the round
This course should be closed
Course was crispy brown due to major reseeding starting may 1st. Unfortunately for me they killed off all grass a week ago. Worst round of golf I’ve ever played. Couldn’t get money back this, should’ve not been on golf now. Westminister should be charged money for starting reseed before closing. Very upset golfer here
Bad Timing at the Club at Westminster
The course grass was being killed off everywhere in preparation for closure for a 6 month renovation beginning next month. It would have been nice to know before I booked this tee time.
Would like to have known !?
The course is in terrible condition. There is not a Blackde of grass anywhere on a fairway. The only thing that was green on the course was the greens and they were not ingot shape.
Dead Course
Every t box and every fairway was 100% dead grass or no grass at all.
Owners had killed off all the grass ahead of replacement. Course should have been closed.
What a waste
The layout of the course is nice. However, what the fail to tell you is that it is going through a total purse redo. Every fairway was burned out in preparation. The greens were ok and the tee boxes still green. But the sand traps have been neglected and it crazy that there’s no mention on the app. Someday it may be a nice course.
The Course at Westminster is my go to golf course
I like The Club at Westminster. I live in Fort Myers and the course is close to home. It is also one of the few affordable golf courses in Fort Myers/Le High area. Right now they are preparing the fairways for the work that'll be done this summer so the fairways were very brown. But the staff, starters, and restaurant folks are all top notch. The 19th hole is great. The restaurant has great food and the beer is cold. I can golf and eat and have a beer or two and I don't have to remortgage my house. It's a Great Place!!
Heads up!
No one informed us that the fairways were destroyed. The corse is prepping to be shutdown and made over. I would wait until they reopen before playing this course.
The Club at Westminster
They had a nice layout to this course. However, they were killing off the grass for replanting this season so everything was brown.
Horrible Experience
With barely a blade of grass to aim for let alone hit off of, you couldn’t tell the difference between the fairway, the rough, or the dirt in random spots. It almost looks as though there is no one taking care of the course. Would not recommend wasting your time or money here.
Awful
This should be taken off the GolfNow app. Completely renovating the course. The fairways are all burned out. There is no notice of this when you sign up
This place was a disaster
I booked this to Golf Now. The place was a total disaster. The tea boxes and greens are in OK shape but the fairways were not watered in months. It was like hitting off a hay barrel. I highly recommend that no one plays this course. I was informed by other players that in about a month they will be renovating the entire course. It needs it!!!!!
Good course
They killed the grass to plant new grass so yeah…. Not the best time to play. But seemed like a decent course.
A much needed upgrade is coming....
This is the club I usually go to the range at, as I am getting back into golf after a 7+ year hiatus. It has a pretty nice practice facility. When I was complaining about the overall conditions, I was told Gateway has purchased this track and it will get a very nice and expensive make-over starting in just 2 weeks, May 1. The club will be apparently closed until October. That being said, I thought $52+ was kinda steep as the fairways are not completely burnt up. The tee boxes seem okay still. The greens were 'green' still, but the undulations and patchy spots made them pretty difficult. The speed meter was at 10 that day, and they weren't kidding! Overall, I think its going to be great when they are done with the updates, and the staff all seemed really nice and down to earth, from the pro shop (Thank you Dan for all your help!), to the bar, the kitchen and the rangers. Hope to see ya' all again in the Fall.
