One&Only Palmilla Golf Club - The Mountain/Ocean Golf Course

About
The One&Only Palmilla Golf Club boasts a 27-hole layout that is divided into three scenic nines: Mountain, Ocean, and Arroyo. Named after the defining features of their landscape, the nines are played in different 18-hole combinations. Jack Nicklaus designed all 27 holes, giving each a unique character but the same level of challenge. The Mountain/Ocean combination starts out with dramatic elevations. Expect some uneven lies and the occasional blind shot. The front nine offers a diverse mix of holes of varying lengths that all feature plenty of water and sand. The fifth hole is a memorable par 4 that plays over not one but two deep canyons to a green fronted by a deep bunker. On the back nine, the Ocean Course, golfers can enjoy a different view of the Sea of Cortez on every

The ocean nine might be the most scenic of the three loops at Palmilla. Photo submitted by JasonDeeganGA on 02/12/2014
Great Resort Course - Spendy
Fun Resort Course, but conditions were not acceptable for a $285 fee. High demand right now down in Cabo for snowbirds. Supply and demand likely. Driving range was terrible. Staff excellent. Greens were a bit above average. No after golf hangout to sip drafts and settle scores which we wanted. Food and beverage were not included. 3.5 stars on my end.
Nice course
My only complaint, and it’s a minor complaint, was that they could’ve offered to pair me up with another group. When I checked in, it took them 30 seconds to find my name, and then they said “Oh, there you are“. The starter at the range did offer to let me go off 20 minutes early, but I wasn’t done with my warm-up. When I did finally tee off, I was a single, and I was right behind a foursome. The foursome did let me play through on the second or third hole. Then, I did catch up to a twosome which I joined on about the 12th hole .
In my mind, when I was checking in, they should’ve said “Hey, looks like you’re a single. Would you like to start 20 minutes early and go with a twosome? Or would you like to keep your current time?” There was nobody behind me for one or two slots. So, they could’ve even offered to let me start 20 minutes later.
Overall, I would still give it five stars. Beautiful course in great condition. A bit spendy., But, every course in Cabo is spendy..
Bad experience
A couple, integrated by one of the Marshalls of the course, thought we were playing slow, not realizing that the pace in general was slow, so, without asking, decided to pass us, which slowed down the game even more.
The snack cart never came by during the 18 holes.
It is a very expensive course for the cart not to have a screen.
Solid
Beautiful course, oils have had more beverage carts, Ocean Course was better that Arroya. Club house small but great staff!!
Great course, great views, and a great challange
Play the right tee box, as a couple holes will be very difficult if you play to far back, I played the Blues at 6100 yards, after looking at the card, as I was going to play the golds at 6500 yards, but you would then have 250 yard carry on hole 5 of the mountain course.
We know coming to Cabo we will pay high prices for golf, so don't read into the the 3 out of 5 for values, as far as Cabo goes it is a good value compared to others.
Drink carts had perfect timing for use, always there when we needed them, just be aware they do not take cash it is card only.
Had a great time and likely will be back

For the price it’s not worth what you can get at the surrounding courses. You pay to dollar and the conditions don’t compare. Also other courses offer food and drinks included for the same price. I found the conditions not up to the surrounding courses.
Excellent Cabo Destination
The Pamilla golf course is a destination course to play in Cabo. The Ocean course is beautiful while the Arroyo and Mountain courses are scenic, but more challenging. The staff is friendly and the courses are in great shape. I play at most of the courses in Cabo, but playing at the Palmilla quickly puts you in a great mood and immediately disconnects you from the outside world.
Challenging layout especially for first time to play. Little expert but fun to play
Beautiful course
Beautiful and challenging. Major elevation changes, extreme contours, deep in play bunkers: bring your “A” game and play from appropriate tees. Expect to be worn out by the end of the day but you will remember this place.
Inconsistent greens
Played Arroyo to Mountain this time. Arroyo greens great but Mountain had recently been punched and holes were not well filled, also grass was longer making it difficult to judge speed with their slow and bumpiness compared to Arroyo
Ex favourite
A heads up and/or reduced rate would’ve been appreciated about greens punched very recently. Became clear why we had the course pretty much to ourselves, or at least just few other green fee-ers and no members! Cart girl showed up on 16. This course was always our favourite in Cabo area but definitely dropped a few notches.
