The Nayar Course at Vidanta Nuevo Nayarit-Vallarta

$179 on “hot deal” for 16 which was not advertised on GolfNow and mandatory $60 caddy fee for someone that was a 25 handicap and gave terrible reads on the greens. Play the Norman course if you’re at Vidanta but be ware it’s $250.

Only 16 holes open so play 2 holes twice (Hurricane Nora). Greens in good shape but slow. Some water holes dried up. Overall was fun.

Unfortunately, a hurricane caused half the course to be closed where we had to play some holes twice and other holes from the neighboring course. This was not disclosed until after payment was made. Greens were slow. Fairways were muddy. Rough was too rough. And no discounts offered at all. Overpriced for what you get, in my opinion.

Lots of driving between holes! Four holes under reconstruction so played four holes a second time. Excellent Caddie who was required. Great views satisfactory condition!

To get 18 holes in you have to play the first 4 holes twice.

The worst course I’ve ever played. There is only 14 holes, so you have to play the first 4 holes twice. You must have a caddy, which is not stated on their website or Golfnow. We must have travelled 5 km between the various tee boxes....and I’m not exaggerating. The holes are boring. Basically they are wide open and straight, with a couple of bunkers and maybe water. All in all, the worst course I’ve ever played.

Course is overall easy, with somewhat wide fairwyas but small greens. Bunkers are soft and well mantained. There´s a nice hanging bridge crossing over the Ameca River, which separates the State of Jalisco with the State of Nayarit. So, this makes an "inte-state" golf course, which I think is the only one in Mexico with this kind of layout. You can say you played in two states in the same round!

We booked and paid in total online. Directions from app are wrong. When arrived caddie was provided and told mandatory- no mention was not included in fees, asked for 700 pesos for 2 people- only cash accepted and club house did not have cash.

Fair price given the time of year and destination. Good conditions but not very challenging. Very long ride into the resort and some very long rides between holes which made the pace slow. Good rental clubs and nice range. Overall, not a course for serious golfers but great for couples or duffers.

Be prepared for a long process when you arrive. Taxis will drop you off and you will have no idea what to do our where to go. Once you figure it out you will have multiple cart rides followed by a little bit of a walk to the Proshop, where it may feel like you are invisible. Then off to the range, where you will travel some distance in a cart but enjoy the ride it is a little like Jurassic park with out the animals. No water is provided in the cart so bring some with. Drink cart is available and relatively frequent. 4-caddie is mandatory and ours was of little value other than knowing where to drive to next. Don’t be fooled by the over all yardage, the course plays long on most of the par fours, and the par is only 69. Play the shorter tees you will enjoy it more. When done back on the long cart ride back to the taxi stand and you will be done. Bottom line I can name 10 better

Places to spend you golfing dollars. Starting with the Norman Course at this same location. This course seems like amiss by Jack Nickalus. Not his best work

I was concerned that Vidanta construction would affect my enjoyment of the round. It did not. Clearly, a former par 5 hole was converted into a very short par 3 and short par 4. So be it, until construction ends. It had no effect on the rhythm of the round.

I was also concerned that I might be corralled into a long sales pitch for Vidanta, and that it would be difficult to get a taxi to leave. There was no...none...zero attempt at up-selling, and the service couldn’t have been more helpful.

Which leads to us the golf. The course was in excellent condition. The greens were true and fast. And for $22, the caddie was invaluable. In our case, we had Ricky, who knew the course inside-out, and read putts like a pro.

I had a great GolfNow greens fee of $60. Once taxes, service charges and the caddy fee is tacked on...well...it was still a really good deal.

We love the Vidanta property and Jack and Greg’s courses! Our special caddie, Julio and our drink master, Rosie add to the great experience. Looking forward to playing again this winter!

The course is nice and the caddies are great. Cartgirl beverages great. Lots of construction and course layout changes with it. Couldn’t find the holes on my garmin but no worries because the caddy has a rangefinder The front nine had a makeshift par three and only a par 34.

I play here a lot. It is one of my favorite venues in Puerto Vallarta.

However the property is undergoing major construction. Frankly the entire place is a mess. The course isn't much better. Ragged greens, temporary holes, plowed up fairways etc. I'd pass on this course until the work is done.

On the bright side, great staff and amenities.
