Modified Course
We played two days after extremely intense rain, probably not a good idea. No roll and ponds on several fairways. Front nine had one temporary “green” due to construction of new green. This made it a par 3. The front nine also had two other par 4’s shortened to par 3’s because of wet course conditions.
Golf Now failed to tell about the modified course conditions. Primarily, the hole under renovation.
I was unaware that we had to take a caddie. Added expense. It turned out to be a necessity as this was the most linear course I have ever played. We had a good caddie.
The worst of vallarta
**“The worst golf course I’ve ever played in my life. They sell you the idea that it’s good just because it’s in ‘Vidanta’. Only the fairways were in good condition — the greens were terrible: damaged, unmaintained, and it felt like putting on a fairway, hahaha. Very expensive for what it is. They didn’t mention that the front 9 holes were under repair, so we had to play the back 9 twice. I asked for compensation and was denied. I requested to play another 9 holes on their other course and was told I had to pay an extra fee, hahahahaha — instead of offering an apology and compensation. I absolutely do not recommend it. It’s far from having good greens, even in decent condition.
They pick you up at the parking lot and drive you through the resort for 15 minutes just to get to the pro shop, without even saying why — just to show off the complex. But on the way back to the parking lot Only 3 minutes. What???🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Caddy is mandatory: $25. Rider fee: $50 😮😮😮😮😮
I spent a total of $200 for nothing.”**
The only good things: Caddy David (4 handicap) and the smell of the pro shop 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣”**
tale of two 9’s
Kind of a hassle to get to the proshop when you first arrive. Food and beverages are expensive. First 9 holes are amazing with paspalum grass and turtleback greens. Back 9 are bermuda grass. courses are not on gps app nor on ghin app since holes have been shuffled around alot. Our caddie willy was great really improved our experience.
Good
Nayar is combined with some Normas and some of Nicklaus old layout, would have better green maintenance on tbe old back 9. Overall great experience with golf now got a great discount.
Great course
It’s a great course, unfortunately I was only able to play back 9 due front 9 was on maintenance
Lots of surprised
Only 9 holes is open. They make you play the same 9 twice.
Once you arrive you’re trapped. Cab prices double on the way out.
Caddie fee minimum of 700 pesos.
Great course other than the surprise fees. Go early to get through all of driving on site.
Little disappointed
When we went to check in at the pro shop, that's when we were told half of the 9 holes were closed due to aeration and we are to play 2nd 9 holes twice. That was not noted when we booked and wouldn't have booked if we have known.
First time at Nayar golf course at Vidanta
This course is part of a large gated resort. It is one of two courses. The other one is Greg Norman designed championship course. The courses criss cross in some locations and I was extremely confusing and frustrating to locate the holes. Some holes are spaced apart as far as a quarter mile or more, extremely poor signage and some of the signs are in bad shape with hole numbers missing.
It is possible that the courses were undergoing repairs and restoration when I played at the end of April (not a peak golf season here).
So unless you are staying in the resort or familiar with the course layouts, it can be a frustrating experience. Other than that the courses are great and well maintained.
Fun Track
I play a lot of courses of various layouts, length and conditions. Yes, you do have to account for shuttle delays, some holes that take a bit of a drive to get to, but really enjoyed the round and our caddy Miguel was a joy to have.
Hot deal value
Good value on hot deal very frustrating and hard to navigate between a number of holes fairways and greens in good shape surounding areas a little rough staff very nice
Not worth it!!
The course was in marginal condition.
There are no signs directing you to tee boxes.
No idea how to get to holes.
To go to the 6 th and 7th hole is a 5 min drive with no direction signs.
A golf course worker had to lead us done there after we looked for it for 10 minutes.
This course should not exist. It’s an embarrassment to golf courses.
