Marina Vallarta Golf Club is known for its stunning tropical landscape that is home to an abundance of wildlife. Golfers have the opportunity to play amongst iguanas and alligators while enjoying scenic views of the Bay of Banderas. The course is blessed with a bevy of natural hazards including towering palm trees, lagoons, and waterfalls. Colorful tropical flowers and native vegetation further accent the landscape. In addition to the natural hazards, there are also a few strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. The golf course offers a challenging but fair test that is not overly demanding, which is probably for the best since it is easy to get distracted by the beautiful surroundings. Given its versatility and scenery, Marina Vallarta G.C. has become a popular venue for various golfing events, including the Governor's Cup Pro/Am Tournament.

Has seen better days!

Ridiculously overpriced for a very poorly maintained muni.

A waste of time playing here.

Over-priced Pasture

Booked a $90usd round and ended up paying double that at the course; charge for a rider is $55usd and walking is not permitted, plus over 200 pesos in taxes.

The course is challenging - good, but the greens were patchy, sandy, or hairy. Very poor maintenance - patchy fairways and spotty cutting like it’s been chewed by goats rather than cut. The 4th hole on the ocean was lovely but all others were only ordinary.

Constant aircraft noise - approx. every 3 minutes a plane would takeoff.

No place to eat after the round.

No water provided in carts and none available on course except from beverage cart at a charge, of course.

Last time playing the course

The course was not in very good shape. Fairways were quite dry and brown. Staff was not friendly. Every time I drive by this course there are few groups playing. Why not charge $120 per round before 1:00 and fill up the tee times.

Good Course for the price we paid.

Thanks to GolfNow we got a good price at the Marina Course. It is in decent condition and we lucked into pace of play by starting on the back nine. Very accommodating starter. Played it 3 times in a week, and would return. Off to try the fancier courses - Vista and Vidante aswell as Flamingo next week. Adios

Mexican golf $$$$

Fun course to play. Lots of wildlife

Expensive rates for green fee and club rental too high. Scorecard has no course layout and have to hunt for fairway markets most covered with grass. Take ur rangefinder.

You don’t get what you pay for…

Affordable golf is not a thing in PV. I booked this because $90 was the cheapest tee time on GolfNow that allowed you to play18 before sunset. The course looks like it was once nice, but they do not maintain it any longer. Must be why all the tee times were available here. I wouldn’t pay $35 to play this course in Denver. Too bad. I guess if they maintained it, I’d have to pay $200 like the other courses, though. At least we had the place to ourselves.

Nice Views, Decent Track

If it weren’t for the palm trees, mountains and a couple of ocean views this would be on par with an average muni. Greens were decent but doesn’t seem like they roll them. I actually played here on Sunday 10/22/23 and again on Tuesday 10/24/23. We played it because it was near a resort where several of us were staying for an event. The other courses were further away and more expensive still. Golf in Puerto Vallarta is generally way over priced. This course ranges from $160 down to $70. If it were at home in the Austin area where I live it would have to be $50 or less to stay competitive.

It is a pretty thanks to the natural landscape and it’s an interesting course due to a challenging layout and hidden water. For me green condition makes or breaks a course and for a resort course, these greens were not even close to my expectations. Again, they were below standard of the municipal course I play back home. That said. Because everything in PV is overpriced, this is probably the best bang for the buck. Even though it leaves you wanting. Also, if you have a non-playing spouse or friend who wants to tag along, they won’t allow it. They wanted a green fee for my wife to ride with me. She never plays and rides with me at many courses. Occasionally we have to pay have a cart fee but never a green fee like this course required.

If you do end up going, the cart girls make a great margarita, and it helps you not care as much about paying above average prices for an average or slightly below average playing experience.
