Marina Vallarta Golf Club is known for its stunning tropical landscape that is home to an abundance of wildlife. Golfers have the opportunity to play amongst iguanas and alligators while enjoying scenic views of the Bay of Banderas. The course is blessed with a bevy of natural hazards including towering palm trees, lagoons, and waterfalls. Colorful tropical flowers and native vegetation further accent the landscape. In addition to the natural hazards, there are also a few strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. The golf course offers a challenging but fair test that is not overly demanding, which is probably for the best since it is easy to get distracted by the beautiful surroundings. Given its versatility and scenery, Marina Vallarta G.C. has become a popular venue for various golfing events, including the Governor's Cup Pro/Am Tournament.

In rough shape

Interesting. Tricky. Lots of water. Biggest complaint is the noise from planes and construction. Greens were great shape. Fairways were sketchy. Friendly staff.

Marina Vallarta - excellent

Played Marina Vallarta Jan 2025 and all around an excellent experience. Booked as a single and was paired with another single which worked well. Rental clubs (the cheaper set, Taylor Made) were fine. Starter (from Kelowna) was friendly and accommodating. Range was good, lots of balls. Carts were fine, no GPS. Course layout was fine, a good mix of par 3/4/5’s. Golf Canada app does not have the correct course layout. One hole along the beach, a few holes next to houses. More water on the back 9 (and lost a few balls). Course looks brown from the road (and there is some brown grass) but is still in good shape. Tee boxes a bit worse for wear but nothing major. Greens rolled nicely. Washrooms in appropriate places on the course and were clean. Beverage girls came by frequently. Wildlife everywhere, particularly crocodiles (and some big ones) which was interesting.

Pro shop gear was a little expensive. No towels available (though pro was happy to sell you one for your rental clubs!) so you end up wiping your clubs on the bag which seemed a little amateurish.

I booked on Golf Now for about 120USD. Full rate was 168USD (or so) which seems high but is not bad for the area. Rental clubs were 56USD. Booked at 9:40am but the starter got us off 15 mins or so early as the course was not busy. Starter worked hard to let couples play by themselves. Twighlight times looked a bit more busy.

I would definitely go back.

Not bad, but costs too much

Marina is basically a muni course. Upkeep and conditions are fine to not great (several burned out areas on fairway, tee boxes in so so shape, cart paths pretty bumpy, etc). However the greens are in good shape. Those are nice. FYI - Course is Bermuda grass but greens are not.

Some fun holes for sure with cool layouts, nice to have hole on the ocean and overall it's a decent track for hole design.

Main thing about Marina is it should be like a $60-80 course if was in pretty much any city in the USA. They can charge more bc tourists staying walking distance in the area say "what the heck, I want to play at least once while I'm down here so I don't really care if it costs 2x what it should"

Will play it again, but recommend looking for deals or afternoon rates so get your value.

Toughest course in PV

Marina Vallarta is easily the toughest course in Puerto Vallarta with narrow fairways, lots of water fronting greens and wind coming off the ocearn. Because it is a tourist city, the prices are unreasonably high, even for locals. I will only play in the afternoons when the rates are a third of morning prices, but that's when it gets windiest. Holes have a very similar feel at times, but greens are in good shape. The fourth hole, a par 3 on the ocean, is the moment to pull out the camera for visitors.

Poor value

The pace of play was very slow. There were people ahead of us that have never played golf before. The Fairways are in terrible shape. Our overall experience between slow play, no help from the staff. And poor condition of the fairways. This course is definitely not worth the money we paid..

Tropical Golf oasis

Lovely course, with interesting greens, gorgeous waterways and attractive par threes. I liked the men's locker rooms which had nice shower facilities. Rossi, my caddie, was a fantastic guide around the course and gave me some great tips. This course is truly a gem - a jungle Paradise in the middle of a city. Oh, and lots of crocodiles, turtles and tropical birds!

We had a 7:50 tee time . No waiting the group ahead of us were on a nice pace. So that we never had to wait. The grass was wet but what would you expect. They water at nigh the same as every other course..

We tee off at 7:40 tomorrow morning.
