Vista Vallarta Golf Club - The Weiskopf Course
About
Vista Vallarta Golf Club offers two championship courses, one designed by Jack Nicklaus and the other by Tom Weiskopf. The Weiskopf Course provides a dramatically different round from the Nicklaus design. The other golf course sits atop the property's highest elevation while this one is situated at the lower west end. As you step onto the course and see the dense jungles that sprawl across deep ravines, you will hardly believe that it is still the same property. It offers the same level of challenge as the Nicklaus Course but some high handicappers prefer this one since there are fewer blind shots and the greens are more receptive, making them not quite as tricky. The 15th is an uphill par 3 that is probably the golf course's most memorable hole. This challenging hole requires a carry past a ravine to multi-tiered green that is surrounded by bunkers on all sides.

Don’t miss this course!
Absolute pleasure to play. Very friendly staff, course in beautiful shape and pace of play was 4 hours. Couldn’t recommend a place in PV that I would want to play more!
Breathtaking
First things first are the views. It’s honestly hard to describe. You are basically in the jungle amidst the most incredible mountain vistas and views. The course is quite difficult for a low skill golfer like myself, but it doesn’t even matter. The layout is gorgeous. Some tight fairways, true roughs with thick Bermuda grass, and sloped greens make things tough, but there are also some open easy ways to recover from trouble. Large sand traps provide relatively easy “outs” and some misses can be picked up from frequent openings. Even though I was terrible, this was still one of the most fun golf experiences I’ve ever had. A truly unique experience. The staff was top notch and attentive, the rental clubs were more than adequate, and the club house, pro shop, and facilities were excellent. Again….views, views, and more views. I will play here many times more, I’m certain. If you play PV, play here first.
Five some
We caught a five some on the fourth hole and had to on every hole the rest of the way. Poor etiquette or they just did not care. Probably added 45 min to our roudddxzzz
One of the best in Puerto Vallarta
Both Vista Vallarta courses are very nice. The Weisskopf course seems to be a little less busy. Course conditions were excellent. I suggest to take a caddy, he can help considerably with green reading. One of my favorites in PV.
Vista Vallarta Weiskopf
Great layout with fantastic holes. Very good condition relative to others. Nice Mountain View’s
Stuck behind five some
We caught a five some on around the 4th hole. Our four some was held up every hole the rest of the way. Obviously, the five some either had no clue about golf etiquette or they did not care as they never offers to play through or split the five some up. No ranger came around for us to complain to. We had a late tee time, so we were concerned about finishing the round.
Vista Vallarta is amazing
Overall the Weiskopf golf course that I played is fantastic the only suggestion I have to help improve that course is you need to get some more sand in the bunkers they were very hard panned with a lot of rocks. Also, I'm only guessing that that golf club is losing money there was hardly anybody there playing the course. Another suggestion lower your golf rates and rely on volume rather than big bucks for people to play. I will be back to play there again maybe the Nicklaus course next time.
Possibly the best course in Puerto Vallarta
This is an outstanding Golfer's course. Interesting layout with some unique holes, memorable shots, nice up and down terrain with challenges along the way, but nothing crazy hard that'll make you want to shake your head. Debatable which is better - this course or the Nicklaus on the same property. Either way, you can't go wrong. The staff, range, carts w/ GPS, views of mountains and jungle all make for a really fun and interesting track. Definitely recommend!
Fun immaculate track
This course is a little tighter than Nicklaus.
Greens run true. Really enjoyed the layout.
Great service.
As expected.
This course continues to offer superb conditions of play. From tee boxes to fairways to green.
Once the ride up to the golf course is done with, it is a great experience.
Will come back, often.
