Sonoma Ranch Golf Course

Unfortunately the previous owners let the course really decline before it was taken by new owners. I realize the condition is not the fault of the present owners and they are working to improve it, but for the time being it is not a good course to play as it was wet and muddy yesterday and cart path only due to seeding, I understand that. On the back nice we had to wait and work around sprinklers that came on, I am sure they had to do this for seeding. It is unfortunate at this time. and hopefully temporary,

Not sure what management is doing, but the course is way too wet and muddy. Charging full price for a round with a course under its current conditions is ridiculous. The sprinklers even came out while we were playing and we had to play around them. Pin placement on the greens is terrible as well. I won't be going back until they fix this course's issues.

Do yourself a favor and don’t book a tee time at this golf course. For starters, they don’t make it clear it was cart path only when you book the tee time. The Fairways are in terrible shape. The grass is so thick your ball gets lost on the fairway. The sprinklers are programmed to water throughout the day, so expect to get showered as you tee off, hitting your second shot, or trying to putt. The worst part is that when I turned around midway through the first hole and asked for my money back, they wouldn’t do it. Worst experience I’ve had in years.

Had to switch to Red Hawk which was great -just a little slow.

I was told of the reseeding and wet course when I checked in. If I had been told the night before when I made the reservation, I would not have reserved. We did get about $15 discount because of the reseeding. The course was a mud pit. Many shots stuck immediately. Golf carts were restricted to cart path only. I did not enjoy this round. Rating is for today only, this course is usually a lot better.

I have never experienced this type of threatening behavior towards a handicapped driver like this. Currently finishing hole #15 and have been angrily approached by marshalls on the course and Mike, in the clubhouse, who said to "You're lucky" menacingly. Will never return to this golf course. Beware the scary staff. The beer cart girl was great however.

This is the worst shape this course has been in the past 7 years. Fairways were patchy and muddy. Tee boxes were mostly bad. The greens were not terrible at least.

I've been playing this course for the past 20 years, even though I haven't played here in the past 6 months. I was shocked to see the course conditions. Worst I've ever seen it.

Every fairway had issues, many water sprinklers broken causing mud or wetland within the fairways.

I hope somebody comes and rescues this course soon, has always been one of my favorite tracks.

Great staff at sanoma. Little bit better coordination of groups and T-times would be great.

Today there was a civic fundraiser here for the city of Las Cruces. The course was in absolutely terrible condition and the Pro was indifferent and clearly had better things to do.. Thankfully, the restaurant and its service was very good. The current green fee for this dog track should be $10 WITH cart.

Played this course a couple times this season and the upkeep of the course is mah at best. Greens seemed to not recover from aeration at beginning of season. They are sandy and bumpy. Tee boxes are mix of sand/grass that needs cut. And forget looking for your ball if you happen to hit it in the rough. If you have enough time you might come out of the rough with a couple of balls but chances are they will not be yours. Lots of water logged areas in fairway and puddles in hard packed bunkers. Needs some TLC

Nice golf course, but the greens were a little slow. They were sanded and not completely recovered. The fairways were good plenty of green grass.

Tee boxes are still half grass and half sand.

Better even mowing in the rough especially around the greens

Course used to be in great shape! Changed ownerships a few times but current owner I hear is working to get it back up to where it was! Just needs lots of tlc, greens were decent,

Course used to be great! They are working on getting it back there, but it’s gonna be a year or two, tough course !
