About
Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Finally!
A friend and I went to play Whitestone today. Honestly, I was not excited when he asked about playing here. I have not played here in a number of years, and though I always loved the challenging layout, rarely has it been in good shape over the last ten year. BOY, I WAS SURPRISED!! This course is in excellent shape. If you wait and play it at the cheapest afternoon rate, you are getting a bargain. Please give this golf course a chance. You will not be disappointed.

Fun to play
Tee boxes need a little work. Fairways are in good shape. Greens are fast, which I like. Their rates are some of the lowest in town.

Not To Shabby
Course was in decent shape, pace of play was pretty slow and got backed up pretty quick creating a long game and slight frustration. The Marshalls or employees did come out to check, so that was a positive.

Wish I had tried it sooner
This was my first go around for this track. Every time I drive South on 377 I would tell myself I'm gonna play there. Anyway, the conditions were about perfect since the weather looked menacing but we never got any rain. The clouds did cool us off for a July round in TX. The course was almost empty due to the clouds so my 2-some followed about 3 other 2-somes and we had another 2 on our tail. Everyone moved along well and we finished in less than 4 hours. Course conditions were fair to good as everything was well groomed and watered. Greens were average for the area. There were a few tight holes and several risk/reward opportunities. Overall it was fair with some challenging shots and some wide open shots. I would play again, especially for our Hot Deal price of $37.

Beautiful layout and picturesque setting
First time playing the course. Beautiful layout with picturesque setting carved into the hillside. Well groomed fairways and quick but fair greens that hold approach shots well. Variety of tee boxes for all level of play. Course was crowded, but pace of play was good and there was hardly ever a time that you had to wait to hit your shot. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this course for a relaxing day of golf for the value and beautiful conditions.

"A Good Walk (Not) Spoiled"
The course was in excellent condition except for the sand traps. They had a lot of wash because of recent rains, but the rains really made the fairways and greens fun to play. This course is a super value!

First trip to Whitestone Golf Club
We enjoyed the challenge of the course but it was a bit slow for the last 9 holes. We played as a twosome and the front nine went quick but we got stuck behind a very slow threesome on the back who had stopped to get lunch. There was a ranger but he didn't approach the threesome. It was a nice layout and it looked like they had some flooding issues. Tough greens and a creek running through the back nine made it a tough nine.

Big Improvement
Last time I played this course was 10 yrs ago because the greens and fairways were horrible. Not worth the price. Played today and was extremely impressed. Greens and fairways were terrific. Range was closed, otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

Fun but challenging
first off, I'm no professional. That being said I enjoyed this course. The fairways and greens were in good condition. As the day heated up the greens got pretty quick, which is to be expected. Some of the holes take some imagination to score. Overall it was a fun day and a nice course. Will play again.

Super!
1pm tee time. Nobody in front of us. Water on just a few holes. Traps had rakes. Pins removable. Pretty open but still a good challenge from the right tees. My partner played golds I played blues. Greens a bit slow but rolled true. Saw cart girl 3x. Bar & Grill open . I'll definitely be back.!
