About
Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Most friendly and accommodating. Course was a little rough in areas but it is early spring.

We got an early preview of the new bunkers! Wow the ones that are finished, they are very nice. Greens rolling fast and true.

Great layout, terrible shape
This course has great potential but needs a lot of work. Very little grass on the fairways and tee boxes and over half the bunkers were unplayable. The one positive was the greens. They were in good shape and running fast. The staff in the pro shop is also really good. Friendly with great service. Will try it again in April after the spring grasses are up and hopefully the bunkers have been filled back in.

Great layout, but.....Tee boxes and sand traps need lots of work.
I got a great deal for 18 with cart for $20 bucks, so I was not expecting perfection. And the course layout is excellent and the staff were Texas Friendly. The golf carts are brand new and very nice!! The beverages are ice cold and very reasonably priced. On the negative side: The bunkers are out of control bad!! I read the reviews that mentioned this, but they are worse than you can fathom!! I did see that they have had some sand delivered and there is some evidence that they are “working “ on them, so time will tell. Also, the tee boxes(I play the white) do not have much grass on them and are very uneven. Not my favorite thing to have an up hill/down hill lie for my tee shot. The last negative I noticed is that the players whom play here do not follow the signs in regard to where you can and can not drive your cart. Maybe because it still is not golf season(mid-March), the club does not or cannot enforce the rules. Overall, I had a lovely round of golf at a fantastic price and enjoyed being outside with the sights and sounds of the natural world( cue the Roadrunners!)

Very nice except bunkers
Fairways are in good winter condition and greens were in excellent shape. Bunkers are washed out so be prepared to take a drop.

Course has made noticeable improvements recently, including new carts. Good value for the money and very friendly staff.

Golf
Course is in good shape for winter golf. T boxes need some work. Sand traps are not playable. They are rocks and sand. Fairways are good and greens are fast. Defiantly will play again in the Spring.
