Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Saturday outing
Finally I got to play a round of golf with my son. The course was in good shape but the place was packed!! The threesome that was in front of us were extremely unethical. The one was giving the other lessons while the third would take multiple practice swings only to duff the ball 50feet. I get that other people are learning but do that on a weekday not a busy weekend. So because of them we couldn’t get in 18 holes before dark. When honestly we should have finished about a hour before that.

Great shape. Course has came along way from 2 years ago. I truly to play here 2 or 3 times a month.
Great layout, slowest round ever!
I really wanted to love the course. My Son and I were both playing great but waiting 15 to 20 minutes on every hole is just about as ridiculous as it gets. We were supposed to tee off at 3:12 PM and didn’t end off teeing off till about 25 minutes later. We should’ve been done with our round around 7:15pm and we ended up leaving with four holes still to go at 8 PM. Very very frustrating. Really liked the course but the pace of play is just stupid. Fix the piece of plate and this will be a great place to enjoy a run of golf. Should’ve learned from the other reviews.
Great shape and getting better
Whitestone has been one of my main courses for years. Unlike in the past, you can tell that there has been a lot of attention and investment in improving and getting this course into great shape.
Everything is always great at this course have never had issues till yesterday. The marshal tried to kick us out saying we were behind. We booked 2 tee times and he made us wait 10 min and then caught up to us before even finishing 1st hole saying people were complaining even though he made us wait 10 min. The course manager 10/10 very nice and respectful. Mashal gotta go!! Must be new never seen him there. We noticed we were the only Hispanics playing at the time and he wanted to kick us out.
Pace of play terrible
Well what can I say, the pace of play was the worse I have ever played 5 1/2 hours to play. They need to figured that out. Otherwise the course was in great shape
Spring repair replaced the greens with ice!
Spring repairs in progress in places, but overall the course is in great shape. BEWARE: ice-slick greens!

Beautiful Course, wide fairways!
I enjoyed this course, definitely coming back! Great greens, some challenging holes. Pace of play could have been better but we have good days and some aren’t.
