About

Holes 18
Type Public
Par 72
Length 7117 yards
Slope 135
Rating 74.4

Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.

Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.

On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.

White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Beautiful Course! Well worth the green fee.

Overall the course was beautiful. Not too easy but not hard. My only complaint(s) is there was 3 groups ahead that were about 3 holes behind pace. It took a while for the Marshall to get them moving. Restrooms and port-a-potties were disgusting. I’ll definitely play there again, however.

Twe boxes and greens in great shape. Greens running about 12, so pretty fast. Staff was SUPER friendly! Carts in good shape and free water in a cooler attached to the cart was a nice touch. Practice area was in good shape. Good value for the money.

Improving the course.

Course plays short as a lot of the tee boxes are being redone/improved. It should be good in a couple of months but then the winter weather comes in. Bunkers could be redone.

Great Condition FAST Greens

The course was in great shape and the pace of play was good for a Sunday. The greens rolled very true, but were frustratingly fast and most pin placements had their fair share of break. If you haven’t played here in a while, expect some 3 putts until you can talk yourself into the speed. I will definitely add this course to the rotation.

Great layout

I’ve played here four or five times a year since moving to Texas in 2014. The new owners have done a great job on the course and added GPS carts, water and ice on carts, range balls and improved the snack bar.

My sole complaint is the condition of the bunkers. They are mostly dirt and difficult to play out of. If they can fix them, I’d give it five stars.

Close to Being Great

I've been playing Whitestone for 7 years and this is the best shape it's ever been in. If they could add sand to their traps then this would be an A level course. One of the more fun tracks in DFW.
