Great Course
Campestre is a great course, good layout and in great shape. Staff is very accommodating and friendly
My only frustration was being parred up with a couple of beginners who were nice and apologetic After a few holes I took off on my own ahead of them. I then caught up to a 3 some who were extremely slow and I had to wait on every shot. They went to each other’s ball and waited for them to hit (not playing ready golf) then constantly parked their carts in front of the green and took forever to putt.
The previous time I played there the pro actually let out two 5somes ??? And the marshal had to escort me through them.
As I said it’s a great course but they need to make sure folks know golf etiquette.
2 Thumbs up for Campestre
Loved the course. Great views. Excellent conditions. Great service/staff
It’s a pass for us
Bill and staff were great but the course and amenities just were not up to par! Ha!
Too many other better options for golf in Cabo 😌
This course has great greens and great vistas
Greens were wonderful and many fabulous views to the sea. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Had lunch at the turn which made for a relaxing day.
Off Season
Due to playing in the off season the rating was a little lower. Greens aerated and sandy. Nice track and layout. Playable for all skill levels. Would come back when greens are rolling as they looked like they could be treacherous depending on pin position. Typical Nicklaus layout. Generous fairways and a lot of bunkers.
GREAT course conditions!
We were MORE than pleased to find that this course is now in GREAT CONDITION! Whatever issues golfers experienced in June have definitely been remedied and we had a fabulous day of golf!
Updated review
My 7/3/2024 review had some negatives that improved when I returned on 7/6/2024. The snack bar has now fully reopened and the sanded greens have improved but still have a way to go. Despite a few negatives, I really do enjoy this course.
Love the layout but some things were a little off
Interesting variety of holes with some ocean views and lots of lovely houses. Overall conditions were good not great; fairways were okay, tee boxes and traps were so so, greens had just been heavily sanded the day before which was a bummer. Snack bar was under renovation. Staff was friendly, pace of play was great. Better course for the money than most of the other San Jose area courses.
Disappointed
I played here last year and it was fabulous. The course is pitiful- they had no water for two weeks and the course is worse than playing in the Arizona desert. It is a challenging course further made difficult by its poor conditions. No power in bathrooms, no running water in bathroom, staff not interested in serving customers. So glad I decided not to purchase there last year - so much better to offer elsewhere. Would not recommend to play here.
Highly Disappointed
We have played this course twice a year now and was shocked to see the conditions of the Fairways.
The fairways are burnt, dry, dead grass everywhere?
I have no idea what happened, but it is not worth the money to play here anymore.
We payed $150.00 and felt cheated.
The greens were just ok - overall just pass and play Cabo Real GC instead, you will thank me!
Favorable review
Course needs some TLC.
Many of the traps need more sand.
Many of the Fairways need more water OR need some care of many brown spots
Majority of the greens are in very good shape and are very challenging. Loved the greens but they kicked my butt today.
ALL of the staff is very friendly.
Love the course
Every time I am in San Jose Del Cabo I play Club Campestre. The staff is unbeatable, super friendly and help improve the overall feeling of the course. I would have given the course all 5 stars but there are quite a few dead spots that have popped up this year compared to last year. It’s always a bummer to see that many spots when you’re spending north of $150 per round. Greens were in great shape and love the range as well. Carts have improved from last year as well. I will 100% be returning next year and playing this course.
Questro Golf has ruined this course!!!
I have played this course at least 8 times in the last 18 years and today was a major disappointment to say the least. . There was barely more than a few patches of green grass on any of the fairways and almost all of the huge lakes are now dried out pita of overgrown bushes. I have enjoyed the layot of this course
Over the years and really played some good golf here, but I am afraid to say this course will be closed in less than 2 years. Everyone who works there said the same thing to me when I asked what happened to the course, they say that the irrigation system broke a few weeks ago. It looks like they stopped watering the course months ago. The funny thing is that on most of the holes, when we pulled up to the tee box a groundskeeper needed to shut off the water that was being sprayed on the fairway. Most of them were just muddy and unplayable. I thought that all the bad reviews could not be true, but trust me they are. Stay far away from this course unless you like being let down and disappointed.
