Eagle Lakes Golf Club
About
Eagle Lakes Golf Club is situated just minutes from Olde Naples and Marco Island. It lives up to its name, providing a round of golf accompanied by a pair of bald eagles that call this stretch of the Everglades home, along with an abundance of other wildlife. The course design represents classic Florida golf tradition. There is no shortage of water anywhere on this golf course, it comes into play in one form or another on every hole. They may all have water but that might be the only common characteristic they have. Every hole presents a unique challenge. The golf course is wide-open, which also makes it subject to the prevailing winds. Eagle Lakes Golf Club's final hole is a lengthy par 5 with water surrounding the fairway and all along the left side.

better than b4
Played here in the past, course seemed to be in much better shape than in the past.
Poor conditions
High rate for a poor quality course,
Unfriendly staff.
Avoid at all cost
I don’t like writing negative reviews and don’t review often but I feel that it is required in this case. I played Eagle Lakes about 3 years ago for about $70-$80 and was shocked that they were charging so much for a course in such poor condition that I said I will not come back. Then this year someone told me that they heard they had made improvements to Eagle Lakes. So when I went on golf now and saw that they were now charging $159 to play it in the morning I figured they must have improved it. So I found a hot deal for $67 later in the day and said I will try it again. Big mistake!!! The condition of the course has not improved at all, they simply changed a few things like bunkers and layout. They should be ashamed of themselves charging that kind of money to play such a horribly kept course. The fact that people are willing to pay that kind of money to play that course blows my mind. I guess because the Naples area has so few choices for public golf makes people feel forced to get ripped off and pay ridiculous amounts to play unkept courses. Hopefully in the near future things will change in this part of Florida and either prices will come down or public courses will improve but unfortunately I don’t think that will happen unless people start refusing to get ripped off and force things to change. I never mind paying good money to play a well kept course because regardless of how you play you enjoy being on a beautiful course and Eagle Lakes doesn’t even come close. Other reviews that say differently are not from knowledgeable golfers.
So slow!
Painfully slow three groups on the 3rd hole! Only redeeming feature the staff were super friendly.
Great course staff
First time experience was great. My wife and I were sharing a bag and staff let us borrow another golf bag to make play easier. Very friendly clubhouse staff as well making for a fun experience. Definitely recommend this public course!
I loved the layout and the people were very nice, but the condition of the course was very disappointing. Most of the greens were just ok, but many were bumpy and had bad spots which made them difficult to putt. The fairways, although firm and fast, were full of weeds and not much real grass from which to hit.
Grumpy Staff and Slow play
Our threesome included a 10, 15 and 25 handicaps ( honest handicaps without mulligans) and can golf 9 holes in an hour and a half. The starter gave us at least four admonishments before we even started similar to “ make sure you keep up “ Have to think this is a condescending attitude by the starter because we are female. He did not say this to any other groups . We waited on every single hole for the two groups in front of us- either on the tee box and/ or fairway. They need work on treating everyone with respect including women. The course is not well manicured but has a few interesting holes. There are better public courses in the area. Skip this one .
Nice day of golf
Eagle Lakes has lots of water so if you play infrequently like me, bring extra balls. Saw some large alligators olongapo the banks. When in doubt stay right and you should do well. Water was mostly on the left. Friendly staff, got out a bit early and the pace was good. Rarely had to wait to tee off.
