Treasure Hills Golf Club
About
Treasure Hills GC is one of the better layouts in the Rio Grande Valley. Built on rolling terrain, the wide fairways present nice targets off the tee, and the elevated greens require taking an extra club every now and then. While not an overbearing factor, water hazards come into play throughout the design.
Getting there : From Hwy 77 driving south, exit on Ed Carey and turn left. When you come to Business 77 turn right, drive down to Trailer Hills Blvd. and turn left. Veer right at the split in the road and turn left on Pinehurst, where you'll see signs to the course.

Beware if playing before June of 2020
This review is partly for the course but also partly for GolfNow who is who I booked my round with today and also the one I'm writing a review on. I showed up to the course after having already paid for my round which clearly stated with cart on the GolfNow app. I get to the course and I'm told by the person in the Pro Shop that is going to be an extra $11 for the cart because they are not Allowing carts at the moment due to the pandemic. And that the owner of the course had said that if anyone wanted to use the car to with an extra $11. I don't have an issue with that had it been put in the app that this was the price of the round for only a walking round not for a round plus cart. My round before taxes and convenience fees what is $21. After the electric extra $11 for the cart now I'm over $32. Worse, now I can't get in touch with anyone from GolfNow because there customer service phone number is shut down and they have no way of me talking to anyone through email or anything that I can find either online or in their app. So now I paid an extra $11 which is well more than half the price the round itself just for the cart. And I know that's cheap for most people still even at the $32, but I would not have gone to that course when I could have gone to another course and gotten the round plus the cart for the 16 or 17 dollars. Just disappointed both in the course and in GolfNow.
Greens had a lot of winter kill fairways were not in good shape and from what I could see no maintenance was taking place.
I booked via golf now and was the fourth person to book, I was told by the starter that they had a foursome which they couldn’t have booked via golf now but the starter would do nothing to resolve?
Treasure Hills Day
The course was in good south Texas condition. Fairways good and greens patchy. The layout makes finding the tees a challenge. The greens are large, hard, and slow uphill. The rolling fairways produce challenging lies.
Great layout
A great layout that stands the test of time. Conditions could be better, but if you're willing to play winter rules you get along fine. Every time we've played the course (around noon tee off), we've gotten around in under 4 hours. Good value for the money! We'll be back....over and over!
Texas course
Texas doesn’t really have great golf courses because it’s hot and dry. This one we will come back to as there are some harder holes and there is lots of elevation changes. It’s a fun round. Lots of water - great place for birds and you see many types.
Some improvements have been happening to the course majority the greens. But the bunkers are just embarrassing need some focus
Afternoon of Golf
The course needs TLC. Many areas have loss of grass due to hot dry summer. No food service here, which we were looking forward to. This was a country club at one time, very nice homes along the back nine. Didn't see a cart person, had trash in cart to start round, in pickup area.. Also was hard to get here, glad I used my GPS..
Great layout. Dead grass areas on greens. No marshals to speed up slow players. Great layout, needs some TLC. Cart paths hardly exist. But for the cost to play through GolfNow.....,give it a try.
Rude Golfers
Play 18 and on the back 9 holes A five some got if front of us as a two some and couldn’t get them to let us play thru told club house and didn’t care the round was over for us sad very sad
Treasure Hills
It was my first time playing Treasure Hills and I really enjoyed it. The wide open fairways were great since I am a beginner. There is a lot of open space to play from. The rolling hills are one of a kind here in the flat valley. Very cool! I must admit that I enjoyed the first 9 more than the back 9, if only the entire course was like the first 9. Views for days on the first 9. I also enjoyed the water stations. The water was nice and cold on a 100+ degree day. Will definitely be returning!
Great layout of course
Course is great. Just water water water water that’s all it needs for the fairways and surrounding areas. Greens are improving
