Overall Nice
Greens are in repair…..No water jugs..but still good for the money.
Rough greens but good value
If a finicky golfer, the greens are in rough shape and will add strokes. That and wooden stakes across the fairway on 18 for no apparent reason (the carts gps restricted so bad you can’t get near the edge of a fairway let alone restricted area, so remove them!) can be That said the price was great and the staff friendly and helpful. So not too bad.
Not good…. Greens are mostly under repair..
Most of the greens had huge dead spots, tee boxes and fairways weren’t good either.
This place needs a lot of work. Money and staff to care for the course.
It’s really bad.
Pleasant golf game
We enjoyed the fairways and the folks we were partnered with and the staff. The greens were in pretty bad shape.
Worst Greens in the RGV
We played here in January and the greens were in pretty bad shape but they were working on them. Fast forward to mid April, they are worse. One of eighteen was decent, two were closed and you were putting on the fairway. Glad we didn’t pay full price. This course should be giving a for- warning and steep discounts until conditions are better. The GPS in the carts are also very annoying. Constantly binging and beeping at you even when you’re on the cart path. Haven’t seen a course yet with these systems that have them set up properly. Wish you could turn them off and just use my old golf buddy.
Greens are work in progress
Really like this course but greens are in rough shape. They are working on them but we just made a two putt max rule for each hole.
Bad Greens and bunkers
Fairways are fine the greens and bunkers are not.
Bad Greens
Overall, the course is in good shape other than the greens.
Terrible greens!
This course came highly recommended and it did not deliver! The course (specifically the greens) is in terrible shape. I wouldn’t have been as dissatisfied if the price per play reflected the condition of the course- it did not. Such a disappointment.
Greens
Greens at this course used to be prestige. As of lately they’re all burnt or have some sort of weed. For the price the greens should not be that bad.
Grass
Fairways, tees have excellent grass
Traps are either some sand or just dirt
Greens look like they are being rebuilt but are so fast that the fun of putting is removed.
Carts, gos are top notch
The overall condition has improved considerably since 2024. And is better than I can recall over the last 25 years.
RGV Golf.
This was the best course I have played in the Valley. With this being said the courses are starving for water and are all in poor condition. I am from the Midwest and our courses are in much better shape. I don’t know what it would cost to water the fairways but they all seem to dry with very little grass. Don’t come to South Texas and expect good golf courses.
Courses in very nice shape. It does have temporary greens.
